mind control techniques is a total red herring, fueled by fear and media sensationalism. subliminal suggestion is an urban legend, thoroughly debunked. i was thinking i might write up a review of eileen barkers book 'The Making of a Moonie' sometime here which touches on these issues, but i could barely waste time on rank stupidity like:

Recent JW EXPEDITIONS TO MOUNT ARARAT
by Utopian Reformist indespite the apparent redundancy, i would like to introduce the subject from a different perspective.
around 1996 i came in contact with a jw pioneer named "francesco annunziata" from naples, italy.. francesco was involved with a man (inactive jw) named angelo palego, with whom he has made several expeditions to mt.
ararat searching the famous ahora gorge for remnants of the ark.. the majority of the more technical and geological/scientific information is in italian, but there is enough information posted in english to merit attention.. i posted this subject in an effort to move away from discussing the flood, size of the flood and/or location of the flood.

well for one, notice the label on his site is now 'ark images,' not 'ark photos.' he does not go out of his way to make this distinction clear in the website and i believe initially he had used even more decpetive wording in his presentation. exactly what his motives are, the reader may determine themselves.

Angelo Palego has stepped over the line and is deliberately trying to deceive people just like Tom Crotser did in the 1970s and 1980s. Exactly like Crotser, Palego has resorted to doctoring photos on his website and does not even state that they are doctored. There are no public photos of Noah's Ark. Palego must be realizing that his original photos he was presenting did not convince many people so now he has resorted to altering the photos by adding a boat-like structure. Refer to the December 2000 email to Angelo Palego challenging his evidence. The original photos without a boat-like structure are in his original booklet and were on his former websites. Palego has no science to back up his claims made on his website.As well, an Italian named Angelo Palego claims a spot between the upper reaches of the Parrot Glacier and the Western Plateau at approximately 14,000 feet (4300 meters). However, as with other alleged sites, Palego has provided no scientific evidence to back up his claims. Palego associate and webmaster Francesco Arduini says that after there was some confusion with doctored photographs adding Noah's Ark without proper labeling on a previous website, Palego has now authorized the Official Angelo Palego website.

palego himself has admitted that these photos are doctored. hes a pretty blatant fraud and gives a bad name to legitimate ark-searchers.

The only problem I can see is when requests come through proxies or dialup accounts re-use IP addresses and there would end up being some false accusations which could be dangerous.
yes, and that kind of thing would happen to. usually a comparison of dates tho would easily reveal if the IP has from a pool of IPs belonging to a dynamic connection that several users shared as opposed to a static one. likely exactly what u do with the log files to determine multiple identities.

some forums post IPs but this is not very common and would not be appropriate for a forum like this. what h2o used to do was post a string containing an encrypted IP. this allowed everyone to compare strings to see publicly that a person was posting under more than one name from the same location (or ISP) but made it impossible to determine the IP itself, something of a compromise.

i went to this meeting too. i would be interested to compare notes with harmony.
the watchtower on stress identified the causes of stress today as the economy, health problems and the challenges of raising a family. what all of us need to do to alleviate stress is More Bible Study. specifically, there was a list of scriptures highlighting a different teaching of jesus each that was assigned to each day of the month. we were to do Scriptural Meditation, possibly in conjuction with our Examining The Scriptures Daily portion of our day on each point, repeating the point the next day if we did not experience sufficient Stress Alleviation. then, at the end of week, a Weekly Review of the material we'd meditated on and applied would be Most Beneficial.
in order to punctuate the incredible lack of stress wed had all undergone, we sang the closing song that starts 'Be Joyful! Be Joyful!' and repeats it about 50 times in ren-and-stimpy fashion. by the end i was so Stress-Free i nearly had to chew off one of my own arms.

Ordered Complexity necessitates Design
by gravedancer injust a short question which probably was raised before.. the favorite argument of creationists: since there is such abundant complexity in the world around us and within us - doesn't this point point to design and therefore a designer (i.e.
god)?.
