Help get this JW off my back!
by mpatrick ini was wondering if anyone wanted to come to my defense on this jw discussion board at http://www.beliefnet.org this jw that post as "rosemaybud" is driving me crazy and i am tired of trying to get her off my back.
she never post about anything much, except to make hateful remarks to me or about me.
i post as "loveofwaterlilies".

Well, I finally posted a reply...
Brainscramble,
From post like the one from "RoseMaybud", it is quite evident the attitude that is really behind the faces of JWs. Many of the JWs that post here come off with the same haughty attitude as her...What reason would anyone have to believe that JWs are actually sincere in their quest for saving mankind? Many JWs resort to name calling and hateful remarks when their doctrines are questioned. Obviously, it is much easier to just call someone a "liar" or an "apostate" than it is to defend the JW Organization!
I will be sure to direct my critiques to the appropriate board in the future and let all the JWs here live in their little Watchtower fantasy world where all JWs feel persecuted and hold out for the final day when all non-JWs are destroyed by the mighty JW God!
I think Dateline was right on about their description of JWs and believe me, if everlasting life means spending eternity with the likes of such self-righteous JWs, I will take eternal destruction anyday!
I am not saying there aren't some sincere JWs, because you do seem sincere, but I think issues such as this will show the Organization's true colors and more eyes will be opened to the hypocrisy that reigns within the Watchtower walls!
Blessings,
Michelle (with two l's)
P.S. I will be at the JW Challenge & Critique Board with the other free thinkers that are willing to defend their beliefs! After "Brainscramble" replied to my comments (along with all you guys) it made it a little easier for me!
Did I come on a little too strong? ...Or does it sound alright?

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words! Sometimes I feel all alone on that board. Most of the time I stick to the Challenge & Critique since the JW board is suppose to be just for JWs (since I was never d'a or d'f, technically I am still JW enough to post there...right?). I am definitely not an AlanF, Farkel or Amazing, but I try to hold my own. If anyone is interested in sticking around that board and posting every so often, it would be great to see some new posters. The JW Challenge & Critique has a couple of active JWs that have been posting there for sometime...(I have an easier time debating with my 2 year old than them). It would probably only take 5 min. out of your day because there are usually as many post there all day as there are here in a 2 min. time span.
But, again thank you all for your support! I love this board for that reason! You all are like my big happy "cyberspace family"!

I have actually responded and ignored this person. This website doesn't get very many post per day, so when she post something like that it stays on top for a while. I usually post more on their Challenge & Critique Board. It is very different from here. A lot of the posters are individuals from various faiths that are curious about JWs or individuals that are somewhat familiar with JWs and have questions. I have been posting on this forum for some time and I don't really want to respond on this board in a way that I may chase off the few open-minded ones that come there.

Apost-0-Conventions
by Francois inwhat is it that the wtbts can't abide nor tolerate?
publicity: the searching luminosity of truth.
when the light of truth is turned on them, they scatter like roaches suddenly exposed to daylight.. i am suggesting that next summer, during the usual round of vacation ruining assemblies, that we have our own round of conventions, apost-0-conventions.

My husband (never a JW) thinks that we should include a softball game in our scheduled events. He wants to be on the "never that stupid" team and said I could be on the "apostate" team!

It is just a little site without a lot of action, and since it is multi-faith forum it is not monitored by JWs. Anyway, check it out if you are interested~I would appreciate any defense if anyone is up for it.

non-jw family might hire jw nanny--r we crazy?
by fred inwe are a non-jw family with 2 kids under 5 thinking about hiring a jw live in nanny.
she is in her 30's, active jw.
we all have talked about mutual respect for each others religions, and all agreed to a hands off policy.

I worked as a nanny for over five years, all the while I was an active JW. I treated my job as a caregiver the same as I would treat any job. I respected the wishes of the parents and never once tried to push my religious beliefs on the families.
I think this JW would make as good of a nanny as any Catholic, Baptist or anyone of any other religious denomination, if not a better one. Good caregivers are hard to come by! I was with one family for over three years and I loved them and they loved me. I don't think you have anything to worry about in regards to her religious background, just keep in mind that JWs are just as imperfect as the next person. With this in mind, make sure you do a background check just as you would do with anyone. I have heard some horror stories from my past employeer about nannies she had working for her and none of them were JWs. I think your concerns should be about her as a person, not her religious background.
Wow, this thread reminds of when the movie "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle"! Everyone was all of sudden in a frenzy about hiring a nanny because of a movie that was more about a pyscho out for revenge than it was ever about a nanny.
