I think you make an excellent point!
For one, consider how many were baptized as minors, and yet this decision that so many chose at such a young age is held against them for the rest of their lives. You can't drink until your 21, you can't get married until your 18 (in most states) without parental consent, you can't drive until your 16, yet we see ones as young as 12 getting baptized all the time. I think I was only 14, or 15 years old myself. Infact, five of my immediate family members were baptized in their early teens. It seems that there should at least be a law for minors, and ones baptized as minors.
One of my disfellowshipped brothers admits he only got baptized because of peer pressure and because he wasn't included in things.
And, I totally disagree with the comment about "no one ever forced anyone to become a JW"....my parents forced it upon me, I wasn't given a choice!
