I understant many of you don't believe in God, but I do, so please respect my beliefs, OK? I will respect yours.
there is a program on here at the moment called 'space' and last week was about the sheer number of stars.
for each grain of sand on every beach on the planet there are millions or billions of stars.. if there was a god, that would make us smaller than something minescule sat on an atom.
and yet they claim that he 'sent his firstborn son to die for us' (who incidentally created all this?)..
Then how did the planets get here? Hw did the stars get here? And if you say some type of gas etc.., then how did that get here? Explain gravity. I think evolution is an excuse to not have to conform, worship or belive in a higher power.

I just happened to have it, too, just I don't have a scanner. Actually my parents have it, but I can get it.

Here is where the JW really get the year 1914:
First Charles Taze Russell said, based upon the pyramid of Giza (a form a numberology or divination) that the world would end in 1914 (trust me, this is true I have the scanned page) The world did not end, so they disguised it as Jesus coming "invisibly." Then in order to back this claim, it needed to be from somthing other than numberology, so they derived the date 1914 from other "dates in history" and came up with 1914 (only problem is they are off by 20 years.) Anyhow, it is all very long and very very complicatied and as a JW, I never really understood what they were talking about anyhow.

SixofNine - The woman who was shot, if you would have read more closely, shot herself. It was my mother and she committed suicide. The point I was trying to get across that as a 5 year old child I believed in God enough to find comfort in Him.
i am after a little input on something.. i am wondering what your thoughts are on parents not preventing pregnancies from occurring when they have already produced a child or children with a genetic defect???.
is it fair or even moral to bring a child into the world when you have already proven that one or both parents genes are defective.
i am speaking here of children that suffer and will not live normal life spans.. i personally could not do this.
Huh... I suppose it is all in how you look at it. I have mixed feeling on that one. It is more or less and ethical choice. I think it would depend on the condition. I know a good friend who has a degenrative muscle disease who got a snip-snip so that he would not have children that could suffer from his affliction. Having children is not a right. My personal feelings: If I had a condition I may choose not to have children out of love--so that my children do not suffer. Hereditary baldness is a far cry from degenerative dehabilitating diseases that cripple and inflict pain/suffering, such as the poor babies born HIV positive.
