Funny Watchtower Article on Homosexuality
by garbonzo intranssexualism is a word appearing with growing frequency in the news.
a transsexual is not merely a transvestite (one who dresses in clothes of the opposite sex), nor necessarily a homosexual (though that may be the case).
a transsexual is a person who rejects the sex with which he or she was born and takes up the life of the other sex.

steve2-I'm curious what your feelings are regarding people who feel that their own limbs are strangers or alien to them. Some of these people go to great lengths to have their limbs amputated. This cannot be a healthy mind set. What is the difference between hacking off your legs or your penis or clitoris? People would be horrified to learn someone had a doctor hacked off their working arms or legs, simply because they felt alien to them. An approach healing the mind would be a better option.

undercover-Thank you. I have been attempting to do new things. Meeting new people is the most difficult thing, as I am not naturally gregarious, to say the least. I have reconnected with several 'worldly' friends, but nearest one lives 400 miles away.
I've order some self-help books on what career you want to do in life and how to achieve it...I look forward to reading it. I am smack in middle age, and I still don't know what I want to do, lol! I blame alot of that on being a JW, as one was not supposed to have 'worldly' ambitions. I am trying to overcome my upbringing, but it will probably be an ongoing process until the day I die.
Until I'm able to establish better and new friendships, this place means alot to me!

There are other methods of dating objects other that C14. Uranium-Lead Dating is used on lithic (stone) items, as C14 is not effective, this method appears to be pretty definitive on lithic objects. There is also Luminescence Dating used for pottery items.

Hi Tater-T, welcome to the club. As for the forgivable sin thing for going against the org., as few years back, but maybe even 10 years ago, the WTBS had an article of who would be resurrected. They indicated that King Solomon, the Ultimate Apostate, who was given everything his heart desired, and yet led the nation to worship other gods, will be resurrected. The passage they used to justify this was that he laid down with his forefathers. Using that terminology in the scriptures indicated that he would be resurrected.
Have you been the beneficiary of Divine Intervention in the form of wisdom, riches and aclaim? Have you led an entire nation astray in worship? No? Then don't worry too much about having committed the unforgivable sin by doubting or not believing everything you were force fed.

DOC-How right you are. I now have people calling me and inviting me to do things that they never bothered to invite me to before. The interesting thing is, I do not feel any desire at all of being with them. I only wish there were people from here nearby.
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. I contemplate my life without my kids and spouse (due to shunning, should it come to it), and I see a lonely life indeed.

Desirous-I know what you mean, my hubby keeps saying 'where else would we go', I keep saying 'it says who, not where'. He has gotten uber JW the last few months, even though he agrees with most of what I tell or he cannot answer my questions. He is buying the propaganda too. I'm hoping he is just having a fit of zealousness and that it will wear off in time. Over the years he has never been spiritual.

I agree with Penelope, happiness is a product of the mind, not a product of the genitals (except for the time they are engaged in sex). If you can't be happy in your mind, you can't be happy in the most perfect circumstances. People use the 'if only' when pursuing happiness, i.e. if only if lost weight, if only I had a better job, if only I lived somewhere else, if only I was single/married/had children, if only I had more money. Some achieve what they thought would make them happy, only to find out they still aren't happy.
