So, for many of us, it was a painful experience. Missed social contacts and educational benefits. Blondie seems to have been able to juggle high school fairly well (good for her!).
For me, it still seems to be haunting me. I don't have any social connections and it is damned lonely!
today something happened that hurt me more than the jwks, more than the shunning, more than my sexual molestation, more than my hellish years at caxton and more than the year i've just had.. the moment i was told this, i felt like my insides had been ripped, torn, shredded and my heart squeezed of it's very life.
i put my head in my hands and for the first time in my life let out a primal gut wrenching wail.. my father had asked my gran why she has been treating me the way she has (which hasn't been very nice).
he though it strange considering how in the past i have helped her and given her so much.
LouBelle, I'm so sorry that your grandmother has made these accusations against you. Your actions towards your uncle were very loving and kind. Hopefully your family will realise that grandma is deluding herself.

Strawberry-I know what you mean. I was asked by cute guys to dances and on dates, but always had to say no. I walked around with a perpetual frown on my face, that way people would be afraid to approach me and ask me to go to social occasions. Snuck out and went to a dance once, felt enormous guilt and left very early, sure that I would be struck by Jah's lightening in restitution. When asked if I would try out for track and swim team, I had to tell the coaches 'no'. Supplying a reason for the no was mortifying.

so-called type a personalities are risk-takers...or so we are told.. i don't know about that.. i know that people aren't easily categorized into neat little folders of behavior.. .
i know that some of us are very very reluctant to try new things while others have a sense of adventure.. .
are you a person who tries new things?.
I'll try to eat any food once, if I hate it, never again. Sometimes, I gag over what has been sampled, but I've never outright puked. Also, started venturing to the big city to try out museums, something my family never was willing to do...I love the ancient tapestries and iconic art. Started lifting weights.
ok so my husband still goes out in service.
last weekend he worked with an elder who is in his late 50's, another brother who is in his mid 60's, my husband is in his mid 60's and the idiot who conducted the meeting put a eight or nine year old girl with them.. i asked my husband why?
he said he thought it was strange also.
Also, this young girl may have been extremely uncomfortable going out in the field with 3 older men. I know I would have been at that age. Did anyone bother to ask her? Most likely not.
so far here in nyc nothing but light rain and wind, i wish it would stay that way for the duration, but they say so far it's gonna hit hard.. .
In Northeastern PA. Heavy rain, winds are increasing and it is cold! I'm hoping that those around here and in NJ, NY and elsewhere are safe.

I couldn't get through this review of the WT, could only read through paragraph 7. It makes me sick to read how everything old has been dusted off, polished and rehashed again...just in time to scare a bunch of other people who didn't live through the 1975 debacle.
Blondie, I don't know how you manage to force yourself to do this every week, including highlights from old WT's. You are certainly better prepared than ANY Watchtower conductor I've ever heard.
