Sitting here having coffee, waiting for hubby to get back from D2D so we can go out for lunch when he gets home. This will probably be his only time out this month, getting it over with early...at least I hope so. It is wonderful to not have to race around early in the morning, in a groggy state, trying to get to the FS meeting on time. The FS meeting here is at 9:00 AM, the poor householders are not even up and dressed at that hour, especially in the cold winter weather.

Shun Run 2013
by rawe ini am the organizer of the chandler, az ex-jw meetup group.
last year our group organized a "shun run".
nine of us walked and ran to bring attention to the issue of shunning.

rawe-Have you thought of calling local news outlets in the area prior to the event? There are probably boat-loads of Mormons, as well as JW's, that would show up, plus you just might get televised publicity.

It's a miserable life --- Really?
by Lady Lee ini was at the check-out counter sitting in my wheelchair, listening to the customer behind me talk to the cashier.
he looks at her and says she looks tired.
she rings through one more of my purchases and she it has been a long day.

Lady Lee, what an inspiring and thought provoking topic. I daily battle mental negativity, it was served up regularly while I was growing up. I realised I did not want to be as miserable as my parents, and had to change myself. It will always be a struggle, as the negative mental neuron pathway, but knowledge is power, and when I see myself acting negatively, I do my best to exchange the acts for something positive.

akafreelife-knowing your family history, do you need to worry about allergic reactions to the ink?

Hi! I'm New Here
by alecholmesthedetective inhi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.
i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.
for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

Not to be afraid of life...she is afraid of everything, and is a constant downer-she will see the bad side of anything!

So where is all this supposed worldwide persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Reality79 infor years, it was drummed into our heads that the whole world lies in the hands of the wicked one who hates us and a result, mankind particularly hates the jws with a passion.. now that i think about it, i've seen very little evidence of that.
i mean yes, in places like malawi, germany and some other countries the witnesses have been through real persecution - not the type that the average dub would call it like doors being slammed in the face.
but what have they experienced that many other religions in other countries haven't?

Recently, I met a JW who said "Satan is persecuting JW's by all the good jobs requiring higher education"... Seriously.
JW's can use anything that makes them have a bad day be persecution by Satan, most other people would think these things were just life.
