by satinka in"albert" was 55 years old, and the fifth-born of seven children.
i am the second oldest and babysat him often while he was growing up --- and while i was still at home.. yesterday, albert was out taking his usual morning stroll around his small town, when he collapsed on the sidewalk.
the doctors said it was a heart attack.

Duly impressed with the paramedic designation, it is wonderful that you are TRULY able to help people in need, instead of just throwing magazines at them. It feels good, doesn't it?

Doesn't sound douchey to me. You are right, it does sound like they don't want people remembering the old light to clearly.

Home schooled witness kids
by stillin insorry if i'm stepping on any toes here, but i haven't seen anything positive about home-schooling...at all.
the notion is that parents are taking advantage of the formative years to inculcate more worthwhile values while protecting their kids from worldly influences.
they end up with lazy, socially inept, illiterate duds who haven't a clue.

stillin-no, goes to the occasional meeting to placate Dad. I made sure to do lots of critical thinking exercises with my kids, they don't do much of that in public school, don't ever remember doing it actually...

I homeschooled my oldest child through graduation. Encourged college, child went to some college while in the highschool era, got A's on the work, chemistry, English Composition, technology. The English Comp professor was concerned with having a homeschooler in his class, he was shocked when my child was the ONLY one who understood and performed at the college level. This child is now 18 and decided college wasn't something they liked. Child has now been employed by a local grocery chain. The management told this child to thank their parents for teaching them how to work. This child inspired one of the employees to go to Gettysburg National Military Park, as its' historical significance is great. This homeschooled child has opened an IRA with an investment firm and contributes to it each paycheck. This child has traveled extensively, not for spiritual reasons, and has great respect for other cultures, science, history. This child is also involved in their own real estate business....pretty good for a deprived homeschooler.

"I don't want to be here when that happens"
by Syme ini recall a memory from a circuit assembly almost a year ago and wanted to share it with you.. .
i had already been in serious doubt (about everything, not only the wts) for over a year, yet at that period of time i conducted 2 bible studies, with some nice young fellows.
at that circuit assembly, on sunday, both studies came: one sat on my left, the other on my right.

Syme-A vision of your future can be a powerful thing! It happened to me years ago when married to my ex. Thought to myself 'what will life be like when I'm 50? I'll have been married 32 years and have only an idiot for a husband'...that was the being of the end for that marriage. That divorce was one of the best things I ever did, along with divorcing myself from the WTBTS.

Letter I wrote to the person the caused me to be disfellowshipped
by jwfacts ina thread on another forum reminded me of a letter i wrote to the person that went to the elders and started the proceedings to have me disfellowshipped.
i stopped believing in the religion when i was 25 but continued going for about ten years.
i finally started to fade at 35, but about 6 months after i had stopped going to meetings, a person wrote a letter to the elders about my website, which at the time was anonymous.
