cognac-I hope that you are all right, and your husband too. It would be wonderful if the mental health people would be able to help him and thereby help you. He is also dealing with something very difficult for him, his wife's defection from his value system. When I left the 'borg it shook my husband to the core. He did the same as your husband, he told my family and dearest friends. It felt like a betrayal and I was very hurt. Wishing you and your family the very, very best.

Over 1,000,000 in attendance and you are worried about tight pants?
by Separation of Powers inyou know, rarely in the history of the org has a group this large congregated to hear from "mother.
" they incessantly speak of the huge group that met at yankee stadium in 1958...the over 250,000 that congregated to be instructed by jehovah.
but over the weekend, there were over 1,000,000 people excited to hear some type of direction, some type of encouragement, something to help them hang on "just a little longer.".

OnTheWayOut-The video on the Congo men dressing with style was great! Loved the guy in a kilt. Can you imagine what the GB would say if the brothers all started wearing kilts in the USA? They definitely aren't tight pants!

Does having priveleges in the congregation mean you will have a successful marriage?
by hoser inafter reading about tight pant tony's rant about sisters only marrying ministerial servants lest their marriage will be a failure what anecdotal evidence do you have to support this.
the divorces that i am familiar with in the congregation show me that having priveledges in the congregation do not improve the odds of a better marriage.
i would say about 60% of the divorces had at least one spouse who was a pioneer, elder or ministerial servant.

No. An elder I knew in northern Minnesota, "Buck", had wife after wife. After the first or second one he was removed, and df'd. However the fact remains that he was an elder with his first one, found a younger, new model and married that one. Then finding another younger new model he moved on to her and so on.
There was another elder in the mid-west who was noted as an arrogant hot head. His family moved to Chile where the need was greater. He came back to the USA sometime later. His wife left him when the kids were grown. Heard he got involved in 'wrong' doing too.
An elder nearby in the Mid-Atlantic, married a sister who was a regular pioneer, the daughter of the PO. Several years later she ran off with his best friend, another elder.
Another elder in Minnesota, a transplant from Michigan with his regular pioneer wife, took up with a sister who was having problems in her marriage. Her husband tried to kill himself when he found out about the betrayal. The elder's wife had breast cancer when all this was going on. Her first marriage fell apart because her elder husband, who was sent to different congregations to trouble shoot, had an affair on her too. So she married two cheating elders.

Maybe they will start having meetings via live feeds. That way they can have the sheeple, who are abandoning mid-week meetings, view them from the comfort of their home and then only have one meeting per week at the KH to individually shepherd the flock...

Just talked to Witnesses at my door for Hour about Watchtower Child Abuse
by flipper init happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.
so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.
i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.

You were very cool and level headed when you spoke with them! That must have been a powerful thing to hear.

What Now? The next time your family says something negative about your toddler and the kids at the KH, maybe you could say something like "It's interesting to see how much more loving worldly grandparents are to their grandkids than people at the KH. They love them even if they aren't perfect little zombies..."

Fertility rates decrease greatly during the 30 decade. At 30 it is much easier to conceive than when you are 37. Maybe you could think about freezing your eggs for storage in case you want to postpone into your late 30's.
