My family will meet tonight to talk about my mom's situation. For the past ten years i have been the one who is always there for her and my other 4 sisters and my grown up nieces and nephews (they all work) has been playing the "I dont have enough card" all these years. Last year we moved to my sister's house and 2 months ago i moved by myself. I have a business and is doing very good, but has just started, so i cant fully support ALL her needs as before. We have always talked about this but now is getting more serious, everybody in my family has a car and im the only one taking public transportation (in my country public transportation is awful) so, i think is fair enough everybody give something to support her instead of myself only.... at the same time i dont want to offend anyone. Something else, im adopted. I have always felt guilty and thankful about that.... mixed feelings toward my mom. :S Any ideas on how i can handle tonight?

I applied for a scholarship!

today i sent by email my resume, the application and the essay to apply for a scholarship to be an international teacher of english :) they will answer during december and after they read the information sent, there is an interview over the phone.
just to apply is something im exciting for ... i think that as a jw i wouldnt had applied for because education is such a wordly thing .... im very positive and i know the outcome of this adventure will be the best.

feeling sooooo positive!!!
by Dudu intoday i woke up and i looked at the ocean from my apartment , is a partially clouded morning with the perfect temperature ... i am so grateful for my life, for my the continous growing of my business, for my great boyfriend, for my wordly and very supportive friends, for the wonderful and amazing nature around me... that made me realize why so many jw are depressed.
as we were taught this world is a terrible, awful place to live, we were fed by negative thinking all the time, and even when we had joyful times in our subconcience we were thinking how soon all will be destroyed.

I live in the caribbean , 4th floor , ocean view :) ... I am a teacher in a bilingual school in the morning and in the afternoon i help children with their homework, the second one is my business ... nothing fancy but exciting and im very proud every time a parent tells me that his/her child has improved after being with us... :) :) :)

It is SO depressing when you just can't get through to someone
by ilikecheese ini have been hitting a brick wall trying to pry my boyfriend away from this stuff.
it just makes me cry that it's so obvious to me how wrong it is, and he's not even batting an eyelash.
he knows about all of the scandals, all of the false prophecies, the coverup of sexual predators, that elders tell abuse victims to stay with their spouses, that they dishonestly use sources, and he just doesn't care.

I feel you ... my mom is in the same situation as your bf, it is more difficult for you to understand his feelings coz you were never under the JW mental and emotional control. My only advice is keep praying, looking for info, reading posts here (here are wonderful people with a lot of experience ) and be very very patient. A big hug,

One of the things im thankful for is to have found this site, otherwise my exit from JW would have been more traumatic...
