This is definitely one of the worst witness rules. A grown man can't even be alone with his girlfriend, yea that is great. makes you wonder.

Two Witnesses stuck in a elevator or car without Chaperon. Would they fornicate? Yes/No
by Witness 007 inim amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!
and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.
and all..

More bewildering scriptures
by cptkirk ini'm pretty sure the wt folks used this scripture to try and highlight some greater principle with regard to keeping ones mouth shut, but i don't think it was long lived.
i've never heard any opinions on its meaning, only what i was told by 1 elder.
it is jude verse 9. it basically says that michael was arguing with the devil about the usage of moses' dead body, but it becomes even more perplexing when the scripture says michael "did not *dare*" bring a judgement against him(the devil) in abusive terms.

These guys were stoning people, but on a dime all of the sudden "he did not dare" to even speak an abusive word.

some might say that this scripture is in line with the love your enemy line of thinking. an illustration to show that even the devil was not spoken of abusively while attempting to desecrate the dead body of moses.
the language is really bizarre though. "he did not dare" , that phraseology is very indicitive of fear concerning a larger power. as opposed to wording that would indicate an example of holding your tongue.because of how extreme the wording is, it seems to completely open it up to all kinds of interpretation.

Haha yes thank you, you summed that up in the same way that I was thinking about it. here we have the 2 greatest entitites in the cosmos and the fate of billions of innocent men women and children in the balance....but this was the precision with which the war is conducted? yes i win again satan teehee you killed him, maybe next time. ohh yes here is my faithful servant daniel, ok this time satan please don't kill him again i mean gosh....btw daniel was the "head of the magic practicing priests" that is another gem to figure out.

which is further made interesting by something that was said at a circuit assembly right before i left like 2-3 years ago....not sure if this was a talk that was going around the entire usa or was something specific to this region, but the circuit overseer said from the podium that "satan doesn't want you dead". and as i said on an earlier post, an older "sister" loved to rub that one in my face. because i almost died from something that happened a few years back and she knew about it, so that was her way of telling me passive aggressively to go fuck myself.

i really am trying to get work done but can't stop thinking about this stuff. anyway, remember Job? remember what god said to satan about job? he said just don't kill him right? well here is the thing, if the ENTIRE POINT of letting all this wickedness befall this man, was to see if he would be faithful to god or not, if both god and satan both agreed to these terms, THEN WHY THE NEED TO TELL SATAN:"JUST DON'T KILL HIM" ? ok you can test my servant job to see if he is faithful, but please don't kill him....hmmmm mmmk. that would probably not make sense if the whole point of letting him be attacked was to see if he would remain faithful? killing him would serve neither god nor satan's purposes, yet it was necessary to say it?.....using brain = bad!!!!!

Fading
by compound complex init is not chains that bind me to the position i now hold .
and, that, for a lengthy time now.. i stand motionless, my eyes peering through dark curtains, they fixed steadily upon cheerful passersby on the street below my third-storey bedroom window.
by their simply being out and about in the daytime sun i perceive that, in contrast to my placid self, these happy souls are at peace with the world.

I think christopher cross wrote a song about fading out of the jw org, lemme see if i can find the lyrics.....:
Well it's not far down to paradise, at least's not for me, If the wind is right you can fade away and find tranquility, Oh the apostates can do miracles, just you wait and see, believe me
It's not far to never, never land, reason to pretend And if the wind is right you can find the joy of innocence again, Oh the apostates can do miracles, just you wait and see, believe me
fading, takes me away To where I've always heard it Just a dream and the wind to carry me Soon I will be free,
Fantasy, it gets the best of me when I'm fading All caught up in the reverie Every word is a symphony, won't you believe me?
Fading, takes me away To where I've always heard it Just a dream and the wind to carry me Soon I will be free
It's not far back to sanity at least it's not for me And when the wind is right you can fade away and find serenity Oh the apostates can do miracles, just you wait and see, believe me ...chorus or something -

That was a highly succinct synopsis. I remember early days of being around the jw church, and there was almost a deification of certain men. if a person had talent xyz then it just seemed like the right thing to do ....that it would actually be encouraged that if you had the oratory skills, or whatever else you had as a man in the religion , that you should invest in yourself as if you were something above other people. it is really only in the last couple years of my life do i realize how wrong all of this was, and how engrained in their culture it is. the irony being that it seems like "the world" is finally casting aside a lot of these same notions. was kind of a big shock for me to come out of the org as someone with some of the status that i have, and then it was like a punch in the face that i took, realizing that the status of old no longer exists(at least in the same way). in other words, because you had xyz or were xyz in 1994 it meant you had an instant ticket to pretty much do whatever you want get whatever you want, but now it seems like that has changed dramatically.
Everything gets back to cycles though. we actually do better as a people when we do lift certain people up. once the playing field has evened out again (cycles), then people will begin to lift individuals up again and things will be good....then the same cycle will begin again, too many bad players realizing that if they get themselves in a certain position they can then rape and gank all the people who lifted them up in the first place, and then the cycle repeats itself. and where a guy like tebow is pretty much harmless, he ends up looking like a total pompous jackass. i think of someone like john wayne, from what i understand he wasn't the type of person who wanted people runnin around making him into a god, the people made him a god even though it didn't seem like that was his thing at all. i might be totally wrong on that because i wasn't around, but that was what i picked up on from old interviews etc. so the people were happy to lift up certain individuals and just keep them up on a pedestal, where now, just seems like people aren't comfortable with anyone being entrusted in this way.
