that is one of the perks of being out of that religion, no fear of those on the "outside".................I really like people. Most of them are so great, and are lovely people. We have gotten to know our neighbors and they are wonderful.
Every society has a mix of people, including the JW's. Some are nice and good people, some are assholes, and some are really mean, nasty people. Same is true of the so called worldly ones.

Sisters with Kleenex on their head
by LearningMore inso, i keep hearing reference to this.
was this just taking place in really small congregations?
i mean, i know the philosophy behind it; my mom would put a hat on to pray in front on my "unbelieving" dad.

I remember paper napkins on sister's heads in their homes, when I was a child.
I also remember a WT article where they said not to use things that aren't true head coverings. It should be a hat or a scarf. Evidently the napkin, paper towel route is not acceptable.
OTWO....Thanks for correcting me. I have to say in all my years I, too, never heard any JW call the org. "Mother"....ever!
I've heard that as long as I can remember and my parents became JW's when I was 4. "Mother" was the term for the organization.............or "our mother" "we have a letter from mother", etc.

I've watched it since the second season and just love it.
I was happy David Cook won, but I like the other David too. He will still have a career and a recording contract for sure, but still very young for this award.
My favorite was Michael Johns, but I know he has a recording contract already so he will be all right.
I thought the finale was so-so. The one two seasons back was the best I think. So many extremely famous singers came on, including composer Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick. Maybe it just appealed to my generation more than this year did. I like Bryan Adams a lot and Graham Nash (that segment was really good) George Michael, and Donna Summer, but the Jonas Brothers are a little young for me to appreciate too much. Some of the songs they sang were ones I had never heard before. I like familiar songs so I can see what they do with them.
January and the next season are a long way off. Boohoo.

A kind response to Jim Penton & Ros of Channel C
by Amazing inthe following are transports of postings on http://www.channelc.org/ made by jim penton and ros regarding myself and james caputo respectively.
the reason that i did not post directly on channel c is that ros and many of her board participants do not like to see anything that resembles catholic discussion, even if the responses are done respectfully and in a spirit of clarifying a false claim or misunderstanding.
i too do not like "catholic" discussions on channel c, and have not posted there for 9 months until i recently posted an announcement about tom cabeen's interviews on ewtn and with randy watters.

I saw Cher last week in Vegas................fabulous show and she looks great. She wears body Spanx though. You can see it and no belly button. She still looks amazing and is my age, I'm ashamed to say.
But, if I had her money, maybe I could get a nose job, liposuction, and a tummy tuck too.

by 5thGeneration inwho's the worst?.

Bill O'Reilley hands down. What a jerk he is.
I watch him on Mondays only, to see the "body language" segment. He is so pissed when Tania Reiman tells him he's wrong with his assessment of someon.

The Road Less Traveled
True Believer

Combatting Cult Mind Control ( fantastic book.................and the sequel, can't recall the name)
Years later I read The Age of Reason, by Thomas Paine, which opened a whole new window for me.
The Christ Conspiracy
