Hi, Melanie! Happy Valentine's Day! Kiss that baby for me. I hope you'll give yourself a break with a nice bubble bath and some delicious chocolates or a treat you like better.
Hugs,

my daughter melanie who is 20, is going through a rough time.
i won't go into detail for her privacy, but she is now a single mom with a 8 month old baby.
this day is very hard for her.

..get anyone in trouble.
what i thought was a good idea....seemed to be a bad one.
innocently, i wanted to send each person here a valentine card.
Sooo, if you sent the valentine to one husband because you wanted to take him from his pathetically insecure wife, you must have sent it to all of the other married men on this forum for the same reason. You ARE one ambitious little hu**y if that's the case! I would guess that the poor guy may really be looking elsewhere if his wife holds such a tight rein on him. Can you help it if you're (probably) so much more attractive than she is?
If you want to do something nice, don't let a pathetic person stop you.
As far as husbands go, you can certainly have either or both of mine (both now exes, both still single) wrapped in pretty paper with a ribbon.
Happy Valentine's Day!

a few years ago we lived in a different city and my wife and i had a battle when a jw would come to the door.
my wife liked to hide and like to answer the door and talk to them.
i am rather stubborn that way.
Phil and MaudeW, welcome to the forum.
I, too, do not hate JW's, having been one myself. However, I am glad to hear that they are challenged in a way that might help them toward freedom and peace. Bless you, Phil.
MaudeW, did you ever live in Kentucky when you were a JW? Did you marry a brother from Ohio?

in the march 15 watchtower there is an article entitled the early christians and the mosaic law.
it takes a watchtower style look at the debates over what relevance the law had that took place in the early christian era.
this is the passage that sums it all up for the loyal dub (of course):.
Oops, I forgot:
Good point, Nina!
responsible brother = male JW who knows how to commit pedophilia and blame the victim

There you have it. All you have to do is persuade people to believe they have found "the trooth" and then they will believe any old lie that is told to them. In fact, you can create edge-of-their-seat anticipation in them for the next rehashed interpretation of stuff that others have understood for thousands of years.

just what is it that saddam hussein has done/is alleged to have done... to warrant a war by the us upon his country, and the most certain result of mass murder of innocent men, women and children, as a result?.
now, i also ask you: please be careful in your response, as all i want are facts, versus emotional vengefulness... and such facts that say this is what he has done so that the us is rightfully entitled to war against iraq.
to that end, then, i would also ask that you make sure your reply takes into account that the us itself has not done similar... or equal... anywhere else in the world... so as to warrant the same result on upon them.. i await your response... and i truthfully bid you peace.. sj, a slave of christ, who is still trying to understand the "thoughts"... of earthling man... though i serious doubt i will....
All of the above are excellent answers.
One more (I don't think I saw it above): Saddam and President George Bush I started a feud. Therefore, it is incumbent upon George Bush the Younger to take the feud to the next generation.
Remember the Hatfields and McCoys? After a few generations, neither side knew what the feud was about except just being a Hatfield or McCoy.
hope you're having a bonza weekend!
mrs ozzie and i have really enjoyed a very pleasant time with friends and now are spending a bit of quiet time with a nice espresso.
so time to take a "break" and let's share some time reminiscing together about "the old days".

Back in the 1970's (I left in 1979), we were encouraged to leave the old mags in the doors of not-at-homes in the territory. We were advised to be sure to leave them where they could not be seen from the street so that no houses would be robbed because of the mags being visible on the doorstep for days on end. SO, I left the mags where other people could burn, shred or otherwise dispose of them.
I am one of those people who can't "waste" anything (except for 17 or so years of my life on a cult).

*sigh* you know when you want something really, really bad, and suddenly you get it, and you wonder if its gonna last, and if its for real?
i got that now with my dad.
after 23 years of not being in touch with the man, i am having a good relation with him.
That's good news, Viv. It's better to let go of that insecurity, though (easier said than done, I know), and just enjoy the present.
The past is a memory. The future is an illusion. All we have is now; that's why it's called the "present."
sorry i just need to vent a little bit,, after i became inactive i moved away from my home congregation and town and things were really peaceful for a while.
i even thought that i might get to avoid the february/ march elder visits as nobody knows me in my new location.
yesterday, i saw two sisters coming to the door and i didn't answer to hopefully avoid a confrontation.
Hi, Dawn. First and foremost, welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry your mother has betrayed you this way. If it helps, just remind yourself that she does not see it as betrayal and is not allowed to be in touch with her own conscience and natural maternal instinct ("natural affection"). Thanks for sharing that story; it reminds the rest of us of just how lucky we are if we have any family members who respect our privacy in any way.
If you want to maintain contact with your mother, maybe you should rent a post office box or give the address of a friend who will receive mail for you. This friend would have to be a good friend indeed because the JW's would come knocking at her/his door, too.
Scout: Welcome to you as well. I'm sorry you've lost your family but happy that you're doing so well in spite of it. Did you choose your name from the character in To Kill a Mockingbird? Scout is one of my favorite characters in fiction.

i haven't been df or da, just left.
i run into jw's in restaurants, grocery stores and on the street and they act so stuck up, or give me a dirty look if i smile at them and say hello.. i then think to myself, what reason do they have to act so arrogant toward me?
they support a religion that promotes the secrecy of child molestation.
Good for you, Sadie. I agree with the refusal to be shunned. If you are in a public place and greet them with a happy smile and they turn their grumpy, self-righteous countenance away, who looks like an a**h***?
In fact, one of the reasons I had to get out was the realization that I had been a better, kinder, more understanding person in my pre-dub life. It became hard for me to live with myself trying to follow the Watchtower dictates (aka "suggestions") on how to deal with people who might happen to choose to dress attractively or have a relationship with a decent person who was not a JW or other ridiculous WT edicts.
Regards,
SandraC
