JEHOVAH JUDGES ABUSIVE ELDERS
by You Know inrepeatedly, the scriptures admonish jehovahs people to stay in wakeful anticipation of gods judgments.
the not so obvious reason being that we don't know exactly how jehovah's judgments are going to go down.
however, the ordering of events once the judgment commences should not be in question.

lady lee, I think that there are some godly people in many different religeons. I am an inactive witness. For years i have tried to find that "one right religeon". Currently i am looking into the bible students that you posted about. I can't hardly believe anymore that Gosd has only one religeon, and all others will be killed if they don't belong to it. Why is knowing the truth so hard for an adult like me, when the bible says that a young child shall lead them. Doesent that mean that the truth should be able to be discerned by a very young person? RR,
Thanks for your reply. I think I don't understand the structure of the bible students. Is there a elder in each group? How big is a group? How many deacons? These can be nominated by any member of the bible students? I will need to do more research on this. I will try to find out more from the bible students website.

RR,
"I tell people, the worst thing that can happen to someone who doesn't see eye to eye with the class on certain issues, is that you will probably never serve as elder or deacon."
This thought bothers me a little. It seems that an opposing view might knock one down a notch with the bible students. As the witnesses would call it "spiritually weak". Although i feel that the watchtower takes it step by step until either the opposing view is changed or the persn is labeled a trouble maker.
"My philosophy is, if you think you have the truth, then nothing anyone says or does should shake your foundation."
You really have me thinking with this philosophy. I used to think I had the truth . I was raised a witness. at 19 i met a born again at work. I worked with him for 4 years, and we always argued about who was right. If I had stood my ground, and followed your philosophy, maybe I would still be a witness today. Instead I started questioning things. But I just could not put those things out of my mind and just forget about all those doubts , like the witnesses wanted me to do.
I appreciate your replies. Thank you

thanks for all the info guys. I agree with rr that my trust will be in the scriptures. rr, do you feel that the bible students are the only right religeon? Do you think that it is the closest belief system to the real truth of the bible? I am still searching. I am trying to find the right belief system. Maybe there is none. Maybe the right one is my own personal relationship with God. But I gotta believe that God would want me and my family to fellowship with others in person, like a regular meeting or something. Personally I am a loner, so not going anywhere is fine with me for now. I was raised as witness, and I will say that the fellowship was definitely there, with all those meetings and field service. But they won't accept the fact that I have some opposing viewpoints on some doctrines. This is not acceptable to them. So I don't go where im not wanted. musky

Have not seen the show. I do not intend on ever watching it. I saw this guy on a tv interview. Did not impreess me at all. All I remember about him is his music, and what he stands for in my mind. I have a lot more respect for the quiet man who takes care of his family, does honest work, does not do drugs. Of course they are never in the spotlight. Just my thoughts, which don't mean much.

A little more about myself
by Soledad inhi all again...i had said that i would post a little more about myself, not too much, i hate to be long-winded and boring, but i also like to keep my word, so here goes.. there were always 3 nagging doubts that i had in the back of my mind: one was how come we as witnesses commemorate the death of christ if he specifically states "do this until i return", yet the wts stated that he returned invisibly in 1914?
(im sorry i dont have any kind of bible handy to quote this scripture word for word, im just going on memory) of course i now know that the "official" position on 1914 has somewhat changed, but when i was a dub, it was all the rage, in addition to the whole "generation" teachings.
some witnesses in my congregation actually braced themselves for 1994, anticipating something.

soledad, You said you hate arrogance and have a low tolerance for B.S.. AMEN to that. I am going through this at work. When I need a question answered, if you don't know, say it!! Dont't give me a load of crap. Only confuses things.
And the only thing worse is arrogance. I wish arrogant people would just shut the hell up!!
