Sometimes I say "heavenly father" other times "Jehovah". Lately I don't know if anyone is out there though. I just prayed a couple hours ago for some answers...................crickets chirping.........

Do you still call on God, by the name Jehovah?
by LyinEyes inthe other night i was upset and decided to pray to god.
i was outside looking at the stars and wondering if i was talking to myself or if he is really out there somewhere.. as i prayed i didnt know who to address, i have said jehovah, jesus, father, who ever is out there please hear me.
i don' t mean to be disrespectful in saying it that way , but just confused.. many of you know we havent been to a meeting in over a year .

Therapy
by Moxy inim breaking a long absence to ask a question during this evening of soul-searching in what i believe to be the best place to ask it.
i dont know how many people are still here who remember me well, so first a 'hi and miss you guys' to those who are.. im wondering about therapy.
i always thought i had a pretty good handle on my life despite the upheaval of leaving the witnesses.

Hello moxy, Personally, I have not benefitted much by any therapy. That is not to say I think its bad for all people though. I always thought the therapist and hospitals were more worried about how much insurance coverage i had. I certainly think you should go if you feel the need though. I hope all goes well with you.

Not Everyone Celebrates Halloween!
by BeautifulGarbage ini got this in my email today from my zealot jw aunt.
this is the first time she has ever sent me anything of this nature.
she is completely aware than i am not a jw and that i celebrate holidays.

I actually have not much use for halloween. Because of all the ghosts and stuff, I don't feel comfortable seeing my kids dress up and go trick or treating. If there is an event at school, I want my kids to feel part of the group, So they may be involved in a party for halloween, depending. I am sure your aunt knows you appreciated her caring enough to send the link. It was a good article. I would try to make her understand that it is all the holidays the witnesses don't celebrate. Why is it they don't celebrate a birthday, but its o.k. for an anniversary? ABSOLUTELY no difference. Why is it o.k. to get a baby presents on its actual birth day, but not every birthday after that? With everything all considered , its just a matter of conscience for any holiday.
Btw, Thanks to your thread a few days ago, I now have " Ive got a brand new pair of rollerskates" going through my head! Can't get it out.

So, what's the Watchtower's future?
A slow fade. Some day there will be only small groups of hard core followers still attending meetings in homes.
Can you tell me if there numbers world wide are increasing or decreasing?

I went fishing after work today, and caught a salmon. I never cook, BUT I put it on the grill tonight. I usually don't like eating fish much , but it was good.

Our Lives Are Worthless
by Undecided ini've been in a strange mood lately.
i keep thinking what difference does anything matter.
in a few years we will all be dead anyway and anything we did won't amount to anything.

Cheer up now! If i force myself to only think good thoughts, then i will feel better. I find its hard as hell to do that though. I have recently found enjoyment in fishing for salmon . I found a great spot on the way home from work. Keeps my mind off things.

The MEANEST Mom in the World! :)
by BeautifulGarbage ini had an experience with my son the other day and thought i would share it with the board.. i decided to take my son out to dinner.
my daughter was off with friends and my husband was working.
with it only being the two of us, i really didnt feel like making a mess in the kitchen and then have to clean it up.

beautiful, I have a son who is 4 years. He started saying "your mean" to my wife whenever he was upset. It was like a phase. He doesen't say that anymore much. He has never said that to me. He doesen't seem to sass as much with me. I can relate to your story. I would have told him " how many mean parents take there kids out for a special meal?" I know, They never seem to appreciate those things. I also have a 6 year old girl. I am too impatient with both of them. I hope it gets better as they get older. I have been told otherwise though. Please god , help me, please. Of course there are some good times too........... anyway, Hope things go great for you.

I {heart} The 9ers
by LB init's halftime and the niners are up 27-3. i grew up in san francisco and one of the requirements is you must hate all teams from la.
even the swedish bikini team must be hated if they live in la.
well the rams aren't in la any longer but i'm old and can only remember them being an la team so when one of my teams is winning big like this, i just smile.
