my sister is having to deal with a jc and i saw a letter some time back threatening legal action and thought it might come in handy.

i haven't seen any evidence of my mom (mulan) in as long.. i have started to post the whole story but it is too long and probably unbelievable.

this statement is prety interesting.
it's taken from the very latest watchtower article (april 1, 2002) the final sentence of paragraph 14 reads:.
"if jehovah's organization knowingly endorsed false teachings, advice to read the bible would never be given to jehovah's witnesses and those to whom they preach.".
Next verse: "And above all, we are SPIRIT DIRECTED." (Because our horde of lawyers advised us that this would be proper weasel-wording to evade the 'Death to False Prophets' clause.)
This is yet another instance of the 'we are right, even when we are wrong' reasoning used by WTS.
In this evolving revelation of the way WTS 'does business', it looks like Siegswife may have made the ultimate statement. You could add 'In other words, do it our way or else'.
And I fully expect the follow-up WT/article for which this was an obvious lead-in. The question is did the 'Prophet Englishmun' get the title right!!!

I know of this circumstance:
A friend had a number of roommates over a period of years. One of those roommates had his vehicle in prominent display at the friends house. While working on the vehicle the Dubs approached. This person told the Dubs they weren't welcome because a person living there was a former JW & did not want to be disturbed. The JW's did stay away until that roommate left and his vehicle disappeared. Then they gradually came back. This was over a period of about 4 years.
There are three things to consider that can change this:
1) Whether they actually honor the DNC w/o Legal Notices is a good question.
2) You also have to deal with their (real to sneaky) thought process of 'maybe somebody moved'. Somebody actually did in this case.
3) Somebody at the local KH could lose the records of the DNC.
Bottom line: it's a crap-shoot, unless you take the strong steps mentioned by Alan.
