has anyone thought of putting leaflets on car windscreens at the district conventions that are coming up?.
all good jws should be at the convention - if they are using public/football ground car parks, then it will be easy to target their vehicles and put a leaflet on them.

"de tocqueville described this elite strain of thought quite well in democracy in america, where he characterized american law as an "occult science" that only those trained in the priesthood could understand.
de tocqueville contrasted obscure american law with the law of france, where codification made law accessible to everyone.
De Tocqueville??? Surely you jest? He died in 1859!!! That book on "American Law" was written between 1835-1839.
This is a minimum of 140 behind our times!!! The laws have evolved since then, both here and in France. US Laws are just as codified and quite available.
In California, there is a state law that requires ANY Public Law Library to be made available to ANYONE. There have been efforts in the past to deny access, but that has been changed; although you may have to pay some nominal fee, the books are available.
De Tocqueville also spoke out of bias. There is nothing superior about French Law. French Law was evolving into a problem while De Tocqueville was writing that very book and later got worse. In fact, it denies many of the rights that we have attained in the US.
In my dealings overseas, I was advised to seek offices and operate from ANY location with British Law as opposed to Napoleanic Codes or French Law: deal only under French Law if it could not be avoided. Napoleanic Codes ARE WRITTEN FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT.
For instance, Napoleanic Codes use the principle of "guilty until proven innocent" as opposed to British/American Law as we know it. You can go to jail IMMEDIATELY AND STAY THERE until the Magistrate gets back from his 6 months vacation under their terms. Bail??? Whats that? Consequently, most places with those Codes have highly developed undergrounds. That includes the local gendarmerie.
What is being referred to here, is the fact that Napoleanic Codes were shortened and stuffed into ONE VOLUME, for convenience. The Codes were actually more onerous than their opposite numbers, as YOUR rights were ABRIDGED to aid in the simplicity of the Codes. The Codes may have been reduced from thousands of pages to a mere hundred, but rights were reduced as well.
It is a DIS-service, not a SERVICE, to understate a complex matter.
On the other hand, Texas will get slapped by the "Fed" for this one.
That will go to Federal court, in short order. They do try that sort of thing, from time to time. The books will get through, and "grass roots" education will rise.
And of course, Shakespeare advised that a good start would be made by killing ALL lawyers!!!

i pointed out the evidence that the society is sneaking away from.
the blood issue to a 'loyal' relative.. she replied "well, that's good then, right?".
sometimes it just takes your breath away!.
I heard N.H. Knorr say, from the Yankee Stadium podium, that it was better to be a short-order cook than to really get an education!!!
It does take your breath away, at times!!!

on another front, a more slow and subtle change is emerging.
the national council of churches in the usa ( a member of the world council of churches) ... has made a policy statement regarding two 'cult-like' denominations: .
the church of jesus christ of latter day saints (mormon) and jehovah's witnesses (watchtower society).
This highlights another of the "fringe" doctrines that JWs espouse: INTERFAITH.
And JWs party line for this one has always been: "WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THOSE FALSE RELIGIONS"!!! This automatically assumes all others are wrong and says stay away from them in one breath.
Somebody in chat told me the other night that "nothing had changed" in Dub-Land in the last 20 years!!! ROFLMAO.
Well, save all your reference material: CDs, old WTs and such. Here comes another of those changes "that dont happen".

my door!
can you imagine that?
don't they know i'm a filthy apostulater!
There is a real thing of familiarity here. Call it deja vu; (used that one in the last posting. Hmmm...???) This reminds me of dealing with my father.
Since talking to him is out of the question (he bullies his way into dominating the conversation) I decided to answer his letters point-for-point.
He had asked "what did I ever do to you"? [He doesnt understand that I told him to STOP PREACHING TO ME over 600 phone calls ago!!!] Well, I had quit taking his phone calls.
After I listed the 600+ phone calls and about 20 other things that were wrong, I got a letter back that totally ignored them.
I discovered that I was in a "battle of wits" with an unarmed man!!!
DUBS ARE BRAINDEAD!!!!

well, due to my family situation, i was forced to attend the "zealous kingdom proclaimers" convention this year.
i decided to take notes so that i could share some of the points with you guys.
i've decided to post the notes for the friday morning session.
Wow, but I feel for you!!!
As Larc & others noted, what a load of deja vu; what a load of crap!!!
After thinking about Larcs comments, I conclude that a JW is someone who cannot spell B-O-R-I-N-G and doesnt know it when it attacks!!!
As D-B mentioned, your comments are cool.
"Kingdom Proclaimers Fired With Zeal
-(the title of this talk tickles the hell out of me for some reason) "
If you play your cards right, you too can get fired FROM this ordeal.
I took the initiative and QUIT!
Mustang
PS: Thanks for the notes. I do periodically review some of this with all seriousness.
One time I very seriously asked a JW "well, what has changed in the last 20 years?". He replied that he had only been in for 5!!! Oh, well; you don't even qualify.
While I avoid contact like the plague, this was in Asia; so he didnt know where I came from and Ill never see him again.

the state of california is now considering legistlation to make it easier, in fact very easy, for a victim of pedophilia to sue the church (catholic church is main target of legislation) for significant monetary damages - perhaps shifting the burden of proof somewhat to the perpetrators (priests) and their religious organizations who knew of these child molesters and shifted them around to different parishes.
the watchtower religion will also be significantly affected as the legislation is generic enough to include all religious organizations.
what else will be of concern to the watchtower religion?
"How realistic is it to believe this legislation will pass?"
Check out their Stalking legislation. It's extensive, for similar situations.
I'll be right back w/ a URL. Stay tuned...

Scroll down to California; look up your state while you are there.

i am looking for some help regarding harvesting herbs (yes......real herbs!)..
i know w/basil, it must be blanched for 1-2 seconds and then dried before it can be frozen.
oregano, i believe has to be dried.
Scooter,
Just got back for the day. A question:
Where does your Basil grow/grow best? Sunshine or shade? My 'annual' Basils did OK on a sunny corner, but just under a planter window. My perennial Basil seems 'very happy' under the grape vines, somewhere bewteen semi-shade & deep shade, I would say. That corner gets some sun and there are still openings in the vine. What has been your experience???
BTW, almost any soup benefits from grabbing a fresh lemon, cutting it in two and squeezing the juice of a half into the soup.
I cook with lots of dill, so i am thinking about growing my own. The Mexican gardner down the street has promsied me one of his Anise plants; but I am not going tp take the one that is 7 foot tall!!!

I have PERENNIAL Basil and Pineapple Sage growing right now. I had Catnip, Peppermint, Spearmint & Catmint?? going for a while. I went over to the perennials, because it's a pain in the neck to plant annuals every year.
I have made Mint Jelly in the past, but mostly I use these for "real time" fresh seasoning. For that purpose, the Lemon tree also comes in handy. It goes year round w/ usually 200+ lemons per crop.
BTW, watch out for the Sage plants. They have a reputation for getting HUGE. I concur, from experience.
I also grow Nasturtiums; while they are a flower, the leaves have a spicy, tangy pepper taste. They are really good in a salad.
