How to convince someone to question the authority of the WT

for the record, i consider myself an evangelical christian.
after some debate and research, i backed out of a verse by verse debate and switched the convo to get on some common ground, asking if she believe the bible was the inspired word of god.

The general population is CLUELESS as to what the JW really are. Everybody I talk to is stunned to find out. It's so easy to just say, "Google 'Jehovah's Witnesses' and pick one of the 800 websites at random." I'm so glad Al Gore invented the internet.
I'm going to start taking out small newspaper ads sharing JW fun facts with my local community. By definition, the only people who join are people who don't know. Vaccinate your community!

No one throws more mud than the WT, or whines more when someone calls them dirty.

is it because it's not considered 'christian' or do they know that muslims won't take their insults?.

Is the New Testament only for the 144,000 then?
by TimothyT inif its right what the watchtower say and the new testament is only for the 144,000, then where the hell does everyone else fit in then?.
why do the other witnesses even bother?.
surely jesus sacrifice and the new testament are written for all professing to have faith in him?.

How about this... there is no actual "144,000" because it's just a figurative number. 12 being the number of perfection in governance, 12 X 12=144.
I asked an active JW about the 144 being all from Jewish tribes.
JW: "The Jewish tribes is just a figurative description."
Me: "So how do 12 figurative numbers add up to one literal number?"
JW: "The '12,000' is literal but 'Judah' is figurative.
Me: "Why does the WT change it's interpretation technique of literal vs figurative from one word to the next?" ("..Judah twelve thousand..") Rev.7:5
Silence followed as the JW was confronted with the possibility that maybe the WT doesn't know how to interpret the Bible. Stunning!
Also, since the FDS is mentioned in the NT I guess what the FDS says doesn't apply to most JWs? It almost seems like they're making this stuff up!

Questions for those who are christians, not JW
by umadevi inhello, i don't post often but i have made it a daily habit to come here.
currently i am not into any religion after exiting the wtbts.
i have no knowledge about christianity other than what was taught by wtbts.

I've been a Christian church goer for 30 years and I have never "joined" any of the churches I've attended. I see no evidence in the Bible promoting joining any religious organization. I'm very active in my church and I love going. Christian churches are more about a personal relationship with God by the individual. You could always go to one umadevi and not worry about having to "join".

I've stopped my bible study but....
by PenelopePaige inthe lady i studied with asked if it would be okay if she still brought the magazines by.
i said of course because i do love the awake and watchtower.
well, when she came by last week, she gave me the mags and then as we stood around chit-chatting, i realized we were basically still having the study, only we were standing up instead of sitting in the living room.
