Who should partake?
John 6:35 "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry."
Clearly, anyone who chooses to "come to him".
Thanks Ding.
"so they asked him, "what miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you?
31 our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: 'he gave them bread from heaven to eat.
'" 32 jesus said to them, "i tell you the truth, it is not moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

i've been journaling a lot the past couple of years....it was recommended to me by a therapist when my anger was boiling over.. so recently i decided to start an exercise: what would you tell them if they would listen?.
i've started listing my top 10 and it's interesting......i'm over all of the doctrinal insanity.....i'm forever indebted to the more scholarly among us that have put so much effort into research, writing, etc.!!!.
mine all focused on more 'human' subjects....emotions, pain, etc.
If I could actually find a JW who wouldn't scamper away like a kitchen floor cockroach, I'd try to get them to see that the WT just isn't anything special. There are LOTS of groups with the same M.O... "Join our group or die." Even UFO alien cults for crying out loud... "The aliens are coming to kill humanity; join our group or die." Financial cults... "The world financial system is about to collapse; join our group or experience financial ruin." etc... The WT is actually quite boring in it's predicability.
though it is true that one conversation or one jw bombshell will unlikely rock a member from the cult, we are all here as a result of leaving or realising the lies we were fed, doubtless all the bombshells we heard or considered contributed to us leaving.. there seems to be a lot of apathy here at the moment that facts and information are not enough to convince a jw of the lies in watchtower.. this is not true.
even if one missile does not bring down the wall, it contributes to its fall.. information empowers people, it is the most valuble asset in the war on cults.
it may not sink the boat immediatly, but we know it springs leaks.
Agreed. What difference does one straw make? ... ask the camel who's going in for back surgery.
you can't deny it.
smiling and brimming with good cheer.
is it sort of like the person who buys a lemon of a car and won't admit it?
Interesting response Extractor - did he have a rough life before finding the JWs?
He had a GREAT life pre-JW. He's a young man. Early H.S. had lots of friends, sports, activities, music, future plans, etc. Now?... none of the above. But he insists he's very happy being a JW. I wonder.
you can't deny it.

I offered "Crisis of Conscience" to a friend & relatively new JW (5 years). His response, "Why would I look at that if I am basically the happiest I've been my entire life?"
I thought, "I don't give a crap if you're happy, I care if it's 'The Truth', but apparently you don't."
I have no clue if he's happy or not.
that article about jehovah's witnesses having the lowest retention rate for born ins keeps popping up every now again ... i'm just curious if any of you have noticed that this is actually the case.
in the congregation that i grew up in, i'm going to say that 95% of the young people in their teens to mid twenties are either regular pioneering, regular auxiliary pioneering, serving in foreign language congregations or where the need is greater.
both of my younger sisters are regular pioneers - and the young people in their hall even organize 8 pm to midnight service on friday nights of their own accord.
Also consider that the "63% of those raised JW do not consider themselves to be JWs" statistic is just a snapshot in time. How many of the 37% remaining will eventually leave at a later date? The actual exit rate from birth to death has to be well in the 70s% range.
any suggestions to bring a end to the attacks on us who have.
left the borg and continuing efforts to alienate our love one still.
in the borg.. how about this, we all send letters to hq, flood the mail room with.
Tell Anderson Cooper your story here... http://www.andersoncooper.com/be-on-the-show/687/ ... and if there is enough of us posting similar stories... and if the stories are shocking enough, he may do a segment on JWs. We could be on T.V. as a group! Just fill out the form.
so the want-to-be-jw wife is getting harder to keep from believing all the nonsense that the wt spouts.
it is really getting me down as it simply does not compute from my perspective (and many on here i suppose) how and why rational and sane individuals would swallow all the garbage... the phrase i hate the most is "imperfect men", it gets me so wound up when i point out the flip-flops and flaws, and then i ask how anyone would follow 'imperfect men'... up next is "but i truely believe they are god's chosen organisation", but i cannot find any basis for that belief whatsoever... arrgghhh.
she went to some big meeting last weekend and came back all happyified.
The before-mentioned Steve Hassan really promotes talking about OTHER groups that have similar practices. That way she might consider the problems without the mental walls going up. Like...
"You know, I heard Scientology leaders have their followers install software on their computers that block everything about Scientology on the internet... why do you think they do that?" Create scenarios where she formulates the answers in her own head. The next time the WTS rants about avoiding the internet it might give her pause.
"Hey, I was just reading about the Mormons. Did you know their leaders claim to be God's modern-day prophet? I also didn't know they claim to be the only true religion did you?... the members even call their religion "The Truth"! Wow, that's interesting."
Do it more artifully than I just did and DON'T follow it up with "JUST LIKE THE JWs!!!" It's up to you to innocently phrase the question so she makes the connection herself. Oh, & you have to do it in a way she can't figure out what you're doing. Good luck.
i was contemplating this verse this morning... what did james mean by "works"?
and it hit me like a bolt of lightning.. now, wts would have us believe these "works" are preaching and meetings.
however, could that be what james was referring to?
Suppose you're in a yard filled with trees covered in healthy green leaves & then you saw one tree with no leaves, you would say that tree is dead. The leaves are an indication of a living tree; a result of healthy life. You could reasonably conclude that a "tree without leaves is dead."
The WTS would have you believe if you rake & pile enough leaves together... you have a tree.
John 15:5
when you look at the new governing body and what they are dishing out to the rank and file, it shows that they are taking their gullibilty to the limits.. they appeal only to this gullibilty with tremendous leaps in logic they read the mind of god and tell the rank and file, what makes jehovah sad(for 3year old mentality), what all the issues are in heaven that are invisible to human eyes, their take on this "universal soverneingty" completely invisible and unsubstantiated by any degree of logic, composed of wishful thinking thought projections of a fantacy, and this makes up everything in their whole theology on which they proceed as a starting point.. the rank and file for the most part are eating this up, some are awakening because of this babel that is comming from the top ceos of this corporation, will the trickle become a flood as the governing body plays the gullibility card to the max?
time will tell, as time is already telling us they are more and more relying on the gullibility of the rank and file with no limits in sight.. what will they do when their delusional thinking and resulting bullshit found in their communications to the rank and file reach a tipping point and are causing great losses for their corporation?
that ought to be very interesting to watch.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/sheeple.
Seriously! What more can they (the GB) do? It seems almost intentional at this point. I can just see them sitting around a table...
Morris: "Alright, let's try this..."
Splane: "No way. Our lemmings will HAVE to see thru that!"
Lösch: "Try it, what the heck."
Sanderson: "Gerrit, what happended to your accent?"
Lösch: "It's fake... chicks dig it."
