I'm pretty sure this, along with other similar passages in Leviticus, were speaking of followers of YHWH, and the rules of social responsibility within the group. This wasn't to infer that you should go around killing unbelievers who practiced sorcery/witchcraft. I don't see it as deliberately irresponsible to omit such a verse from a lesson. If anything it'd just be further fodder that the Catholics/Protestants deliberately misinterpreted the bible to wipe out a competing belief system.

Celebrating WTBTS Memorials in Public Venues
by ABibleStudent inthe kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses is having a memorial celebration on april 14, 2014 at 7:05 pm pst at the westlake hyatt in westlake village, ca, usa.. i am thinking about greeting celebratants as they leave with poster(s) and business cards with qr codes for www.jwfacts.com and www.freedomofmind.com.
my intent is not to debate or convert "spiritual strong" (non-thinking) jws, but to provide life-saving information to "spiritually weak" (still thinking) jws suffering from the wtbts's "undue influence" and bite control.
i might even be eating crackers (and cheese) and drinking red wine at the exit.. my plan is to place up to three posters across from the exit of the celebration and then place business-size cards with "critically think for yourself" and qr codes on the back.

How many stopped thinking they would be struck by lightning for saying a swear word?
Really? My dad always cussed like a sailor. So do most of the brothers he hangs out with. In fact all my witness family, even my grandma, swear fairly often. I've never known Witnesses to shy away from swearing.... Especially once they get a couple drinks in them. Out in service or in the kingdom hall it's a different story of course.

....you pick up a Watchtower and think, "How did I ever, even remotely, believe this shit!"
....You can go to an R rated movie without worrying about somebody seeing you there.

Yeah, as other's have stated, in my experience, it's just common for JW's to turn to alcohol period. I like my whiskey, but almost all my JW family can easily drink me under the table.

Oh, no I didn't involve myself in that thread. Thanks. My wife just got off the phone with her Uncle an hour ago. He called to tell us that, thank God, she is ok, but witnessed the whole thing at close range. Scary shit and very traumatic for her.

for me the whole purpose of the bible is about control.
it features a god that punishes and rewards.
