What would a Father's Day commercial look like if it was made by JW's?

a father's day commercial for bass pro came on and it got me thinking.

it said, "remember when your dad took you camping and taught you how to fish?".

so i started thinking about my childhood and what the commercial would be like for people like myself.. it would go something like this:.

Scene set in an unassuming middle class livingroom.

Me: "Daddy, look at this Father's Day Card I made you in kindergarten class."

Dad: "SON! What the heck is wrong with you?! We don't celebrate Father's Day. It's a worldly holiday created by Satan. It's to trick you into disobeying Jehovah and putting me on a pedastal to be idolized. Do you want to die at armageddon with the worldly people?"

Me: "No daddy. I'm sorry. All the other kids made them for their dad's. My teacher said it was ok 'cause it wasn't Christmas or a birthday."

Dad: "Well your teacher is wrong. I'll call her tomorrow. We don't celebrate ANY holidays. Now go to your room and pray to Jehovah for forgiveness. Then think about what you've done wrong. I'll be in with the belt in a few minutes. You better have a good biblical explanation as to why what you did was wrong."

Me Looking At The Ground: "Okay Daddy."

Cut to short outro scene with me sitting on my bed silent, looking terrified and racking my brain trying to think how one of the scfriptures I had memorized applied here. Fade out with dad walking into the room.

We are seeing JW history in the making

with all the current changes and downsizing, the 1914 "anchor date" appears to be drifting out to sea.

yes, i know the gb is putting all of their chips on 1914 but if you stop and think about it for a moment.. we are seeing jw history in the making for the next jw generation of 2114.. first they teach a date as significant.second, when it becomes obsolete, they come up with a convoluted explanation of how it really was significant, just not in the way "some believers" once taught.third, it becomes a historical footnote, as in: "bible students at one time thought... but now we see... evidently... .

the next generation of jws (100 years from today) will be talking about 2014 as the year of great expectation, and how close the end is in 2114. yes, when jesus spoke about this generation evidently he was talking in a symbolic way, and he was truly referring to the generation class.. .

it's obvious the bible is very clear on a actual hell of fire.

"cursed into the eternal fire with the devil and his angels", rev.20:15.

"lake of fire", rev.21:8 "fire and brimstone".

As opposed to what? Science and the west, which makes a living off creating weapons of mass destruction and threatening the world with their use should they not tow the line.

Ladies - how often should you wash your hair??

i've cut my hair washing from every 2 days to every 4 days and this week, i've left it 7 days.

it's been growing much better and is in great condition!

any tips for growing your hair lush and lovely?.

Flyinghighnow- On the days I use the Apple cider vinegar my hair basically has no smell to it at all. When I don't it has a faint citrus and coconut smell. As far as the feeling it's silky smooth. Before I used the vinegar it sometimes had the tendency to get a little waxy feeling.

I'm a guy but I have long hair. I make my own shampoo, that I usually use 2-3 times a week, consisting of 1/4 cup coconut milk(The real thing. Not that canned or sweetened from a carton crap), 1/3 cup Dr. Bronners Liquid castile soap, 1/2 of a teaspoon of Vitamin E, a dozen drops or so of orange essential oil and a 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil. I also use equal parts Braggs Apple cider vinegar to water once or twice a week. Not to brag, but most women say they wish they had my hair. lol

All appointed men are being told they have to pioneer now!

yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.

they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.

hahahahaha... This is like in the 70's when they said all elders have to knock on doors, and they lost 25% of them. Prior to that a lot of elders would only go on RV's or bible studies. When they said "nope doesn't cut it" many walked rather than going cold calling in field service. My grandfather being one of them.

now that 420 has been legalized in washington and colorado, what is the society's stance on this?

is it viewed the same as alcohol, taken in moderation?

Yes, tobacco is legal. As far as I'm aware there's no ban on it from the society for using it for medicinal uses such as bee stings, cancor sores, rashes, toothaches etc. etc. Tobacco has a natural antiseptic quality. My grandma, a life long pioneer, always kept a pouch around for such purposes, and she even administerd it to my PO elder uncle a decade or so ago at a family gathering when he was stung by a wasp.

As I understand it it's sort of a don't ask, don't tell kind of a thing when it comes to legal medical use as of now. Still no smoking it though. As far as recreational use I imagine it's about the same, but I don't know for sure.

it is a 2 page article on how evil the catholic and protestant inquision was, how wickedly they killed the witches and so on.. .

I don't know why they didn't mention it. As already stated above the laws in Exodus were only applicable to the people of YHWH under the "Mosaic covenant". None of these laws/punishments are applicable to anyone in the "new covenant", or any of the "people of the nations" at any time in history. This was all "old covenant" stuff.
