  Hello. I registered a while back but never really posted. Some people find me harsh. Some people find me not nearly harsh enough. Some people find me tasty with a side gravy. I don't like those last people much. I may seem mean to some of you. But that's only because there is adversity in truth, and truth in the undesirable. Look at me, not as someone out to cause a ruckus, but as someone who does not wear pants with increasing frequency. I look forward to my time here.

  Advantages of being a JW

  clearly there is a great deal of anti-jw sentiment here and elsewhere for that matter.

  such feelings are generally directed at those at the heart of the organisation and there are no such feelings for the rank and file who are often very genuine people.. in actual fact there are some advantages in being a fully loaded jw and to be fair it would be interesting to note them down.

  they can be factual or whimsical or both.

  There were no advantages to being a witness. To state that something you inadvertantly learned while being held mentally prisoner was an advantage is absurd. It's like a Nazi saying that although being a Nazi was bad, his time in the military taught him discipline and pride in his country. Absurd.

  whassup!.

  i thought i would toss out a few group names with a distinctive spiritual bent to their lyrics...and see what yall thought of them.. creed is big right now...lyrics are...well...you tell me.. same with sixpence none the richer...collective soul...kendall payne(she does that theme song for the show popular)...and others.. there are a number of popular, secular groups with a noticable spiritual message to their lyrics.. any thoughts!?.

  Somehow I never did get cornered into one of t hese shams. Probably because I enver fell under the mentality that the elders were some quasi mythical group who couldn't be defied. I usually just ignored their summons *grin* They HATED that. :)

  The society seems to have taken a very large leap when they proclaim themselves the FDS on the basis of one scripture. I used to badger my mother about this and she used to say, " well if not them then who is it" Wow, now there's some convincing evidence, using this logic I could proclaim myself Superman simply on the basis that you couldn't produce a better candidate. *sigh*
