  Would you condone abortion?

  today i questioned my mother about the fact that she told me ?

  yrs ago how she lost 2 kids through a miscarriage but then later told me she aborted them,well i didnt know what to say, but then later questioned her about this i asked her why she did it, she told me that she was already bringing up me and my sister and financialy impossible to look after two more kids,well i didnt agree with that reason or any reason to kill the unborn she then said she wasnt in the truth then "huh what difference does that make".

  then she gave an illustration of reasons when you should condone abortion and it goes like this, if you were raped and later found out you were pregnant what would you do she seemed to say she would abort it,i said i wouldnt if that happened to my wife i said i would probably end up having it adopted,after all its better than murder.. how has this affected my familys view on abortion i wonder, well i have 5 sisters and 1 more brother,and already my brother in cold blood made his girlfriend abort hers due to the inconvienience,and also my older sister had hers aborted 2 yrs ago because the father didnt want to know with out a hint of regret,so im now starting to see a pattern in my family,whos to blame them or my mother as a role model.. so to cut a long story short do you think killing an unborn child is murder,would you do it under certain scenarios.

  i see that this board/forum has many serious, and what i consider to be meritous posters, that can usually be found dispelling the wtbts shyte.

  since my foul arrival here in may, i have read and taken in volumes of great information from this site and it's links, which would have proved (and are) extremely helpful, and valuable to me had i felt the need for justification in my decision to leave the borg in the first place.

  i saw the holes, the self preservative techniques, the speculations, the stupid protocols, the 'prophecies' that had outlived their shelf lives, and simply walked away, never really having looked back, always having felt justified because it just didn't feel right to me.

  i want to consider this point, free from the trinity / arian debate.

  there have been an abundance of threads that have deteriorated into these doctrine, and it clouds this issue because tempers get raised.. so, please, can we keep it simple.

  should jesus receive our worship, right here, right now?.

  Hmm, well if I understand the trinity correctly, Jesus is One with God and the Holy spirit yet is individual at the same time right? If they are separate yet one, I would imagine that Godhead is still the one that should be receiving the worship. As Jesus is the intermediary, I would imagine that prayer would be appropirate. BUt what the hell do I know.

  ok...3 days ago, i found out that i was going to be a father!!

  good new right?

  well then she says that she is considering having an abortion...which i am totally against....so we discussed it...then she started to think that she might have the child....so she talked it over with her twin sister...and she told her to get the abortion...now she says she wants the abortion...now i am upset...not onlly does she want the abortion...but she wants me to pay for the entire thing...so not only am i going to be terminating a developing life...but i have to pay for it????

  Women are not incubators to have children they don't want and distribute them around the world. Making emotional pleas about "killing children" doesn't change the fact that a half formed fetus is not a living human. Posting dishonest pictures of illegal late term abortions does not change this fact. I'm more than happy to usually stay out of these debates, as long as the civilized world keeps abortion legal, all this is merely pissing in the wind.

  Chaos spread across much of North America last week at news that Pauline Phillips, author of the Dear Abby advice column was suffering from Alzheimers disease. Pauline Phillips began writing the column in 1955, after her sister who wrote as Ann Landers began writing for the Chicago Sun.

  While spokesmen for the aging advice columnist insisted that Mrs Phillips was in fine physical condition and in good spirits, the growing buzz in newspaper circles is that all is not well in the advice empire.

  Dear Abby raised eyebrows several months ago when she advised a single mother coping with feelings of loneliness and self doubt to "Go with the flow, its all circular. Dont dwell in the past. Make sure you dont drink the tea. The yellow tea, stay away from the yellow tea."

  That followed a full page article imploring Americans across the country to bury all their ice cream, a task that Mrs Phillips called The great work of our generation, the event that will define the new millennium. The 20th century had the 2 world wars, and we have the Ice Cream burying of 2002. The line must be drawn here, in chocolate swirls and strawberry sprinkles.

  While spokesmen and newspaper editors have scrambled to keep up with some of the bizarre statements and advice offered by the aging icon, average people have been left in the lurch.

  "Where will I go to for advice??" Justine Rennolds whined to reporters, "my parents, my priest??? I might as well just shoot myself right now." Danny Phillips also expressed regret and fear when hearing of the news. "Its like someone told me God has a screw loose, you know??" he painfully whispered, " what am I going to do?? I have a huge party next month and Im not sure if I should invite my brother or not. Abby always helped out with these problems. I guess Ill just invite him and see what happens, but Im hiding all the knives."

  Responding to the uproar in the nation, President Bush released a statement yesterday afternoon which stated, "We here at the White House as in all houses in America, white or otherwise, are saddened to hear of the terrible affliction invading and corrupting Mrs Phillips mind. We urge all Americans to stay calm, and utilize the services of many alternative advice columns in the nation, some of which being Ask Amy, Tell Tina, and Questions for Quanisha. We hope that Mrs Phillips has a full and speedy recovery, and urge her to please stop phoning the White House immediately."

  Calls to Mrs Phillips publicists were not immediately returned, although newspaper sources speak of an expose on the dangers of wooden teeth in future columns.
