i'm just curious as to how many ex-witnesses here still believe in the god of the bible ?
and how many, due to the societies teachings have given up on god all together ?

God chooses to allow people to make decisions and by their own FREE WILL evil exists in this world right ?? Who's free will causes natural disasters? Why doesn't god at least take care of THAT??

why don't the brothers put more feeling and encouragement in their parts(if they believe this is the truth-show it) much of the information is above the heads of the children.
i have to force myself to concentrate on what is being said and not fall asleep.. children are forced to sit for 2 hours or get smacked.
you can just stay home and read over material.
I used to just sit in the back with a notebook and write. The meetings for me became a nice 2 hour break from the world where I got a lot of writing done. I never missed one til the last time I went ;P
today i noticed on television via 'entertainment tonight' how that supposed, self-proclaiming jehovah's witness 'sister' and top rating professional tennis player, venus williams, is back in the news again.. this time she was shown cuddling up to her italian bodyguard.
she had quite a loving expression on her face, while he had a glint in his eyes which seemed to say he'd like to do more things with venus' well toned body than just protect it from intruders or perceived danger.. last year, i posted on h 20 how appalled i was on viewing sr venus running around courtside with an american flag after she won wimbledon in england.
then there were those stationary tv close-ups while she stood reverently at attention as they played the u.s. national anthem.. my gripe in all this blatant display of double standards not so much concerns ms. williams' antics, but rather how they continue to be tolerated by her religion's governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
"And yet, I refuse to condemn Venus Williams for such playful actions which are considered highly normal out here in the real world. But what next, Venus? A drug bust? Or maybe you'll be seen dining with Prince William next year at Wimbledon. (I hope so.)

in the bible times, men 'could'/'did' shave their faces?.
the question comes from a conversation with my father (elder).
he says the reason why all men had beards was that they could not shave them because there wasnt anything sharp enough.. i am sure their swords were sharp enough alone to do it.. (he is very against people growing beards, i guess it pisses him off that i've got a goedee now hehe)

I'm glad he's happy and he can do what he wishes with his life. However, I don't differentiate between the witnesses and a baptist group. They are parts of the same disease.

I don't FEEL there is a lack of evidence. There is. Opening my heart is a nice little game. If I do it and make a conscience effort to believe then The LORD has saved me!! If I don't feel anything then I never opened my heart to begin with. The time for blind faith is over. Believing in god has never brought me any advantage. If god wants my belief he's going to have to earn it.

I'm an agnostic. Since in my mind I can't conclusively prove or disprove the existence of a god, I'm not going to waste my life dwelling on it.

i simply love reading the watchtower.
there is so many fine, timely advices to get, and i simply cants understand all the people here whining about the watchtower being a mind controlling cult.
Maybe I missed some behind the scenes goings on but I don't see how Ken't post was an attack on anyone. *confuzzled*
