What if I enjoy helping to accelerate the downfall of the Watch Tower Society through putting a bit of work in?

watchtower will dissapear... now live your life.
by cyberjesus ini was watching this history channel show regarding the earth that was talking about the ice ages and the fact we live right now between ice ages and the fact that one is due soon (in several thousand years).... if you take the fact that our time is literally microscopic in the timeline of the planet....... and you realize we worry regarding the life span of the wt and when it is gonna end..... well we are wasting our time.
the wt is gonna dissapear.
trust me it will, along with all the civilization as we know them.... eventually all we have its gonna be gone.. so the question is... should we spend our precious minutes debating when the wt is gonna be gone?

Minutes? Why do you only have minutes left to live? Could you expand on your current situation so that we can get some help to you if needed?!!
Wanting your friends and loved ones to be free of the Society does not constitute a "waste" of your life, and I am truly saddened that you feel so desperate as to draw that conclusion. Human compassion and the longing to make life better for others can never be described as a waste. What is life if we can't spend it in the company of our friends and loved ones, or at least looking out for their welfare?
Many things have changed in the 39 years since your struggle began. The internet is growing in influence, and the Society's grip is weakening in countries where information is more freely available. Furthermore, they are resorting to printing increasingly objectionable and hate-filled messages in their literature, leaving them exposed to press campaigns and potential legal action. They are fast reaching a tipping point of sorts, if they haven't reached it already. Now is not the time to give up, when we are so close to achieving our common objective.
Please try to be positive despite your undoubtedly well-founded reasons for despondency.

I know we worry about the millions of innocent people still living inside the cult..... but do they really matter? do you know how many millions have already died because of other religions?
cyberjesus - can I assume from your comments that you don't have family or loved ones trapped in the cult?

Maybe we are perfect?
by angel.face ini'm relatively 'new' to the concept of thinking for myself....coming to the conclusion that what i thought was 'the truth' simply isn't brought on many questions for me.... i find it hard to let go of the idea that there is a god, but at the same time i question his existence.. .
just a thought that i had today which i would like to share: .
taking into account the universe and the perfect harmony that exists within it... think about the human body... some of the perfect harmony that we see in the universe we can see in the functions of our bodies.

I've often grappled with the true meaning of perfection. It's now up on a mental shelf marked "to figure out later", along with a whole lot of other cerebral debris from my encounter with the Society.
I was always confused when reading the Genesis account, and in particular, noting the relationship between perfection and "The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Bad". The whole reason Adam and Eve were banished from Eden, according to the account, was because by eating the fruit they had "become like" God and Jesus, and suddenly knew the difference between good and bad. Surely "becoming like" God doesn't make one imperfect? Surely it brings one closer to perfection if anything?
If you read the account, they were banished in order to prevent them from eating from another tree, "The Tree of Life", therefore depriving them of the opportunity to live forever even though they had disobeyed God by eating from the mysterious "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Bad". If they hadn't been banished, they would have been in the curious position (according to the account) of being "like" God, AND living forever (by continuing to partake of the Tree of Life) - which apparently was an unthinkable outcome to God, hence the banishment.
This aspect of the edenic rebellion is scarcely discussed in the publications, probably because the Society don't have a clue about it themselves.
I bought a book entitled Creation or Evolution - Do we have to choose? by Denis Alexander which bravely attempts to marry the Genesis account with human evolution. One of the theories it presents is that Adam and Eve were simply the first homo sapiens to benefit from a direct relationship with God, and that due to this unique relationship they were introduced to the concept of agriculture, which separated them from the hunter gatherers of their time. As evidence of this (that Adam and Eve weren't alone), Alexander cites the example of Cain's banishment, whereupon he was terrified in case anyone finding him might kill him as an act of vengeance for murdering Abel, implying that there were others around at that time who weren't from his immediate family.
I tend to get filled with confusion when thinking about it all, and pondering on these things for too long tends to raise more questions than answers. It doesn't help to find that scholars are now examining the earliest fragments of the bible in an effort to get as close to the original as possible, and are finding that the bible HAS in fact been tampered with over the ages, with the fulfilment of prophecies being added retroactively, most notably in Jeremiah. I can also recall a scholar (who I met years ago on the ministry) who showed me a book which details the many contradictions and flaws in the gospel accounts. I plan to visit him soon and ask him for the ISBN number, because although I was very dismissive of it all at the time (being a zealous Witness), I find I am much more open minded these days.
I still consider myself a Christian, if only because I believe that Christ existed and I believe in the things that he is purported to have said. I also accept his role as a ransom for my sins, even though I have many questions and doubts about the Bible which I feel are relevant, and no loving God would dismiss them as petulance. I have toyed with being Agnostic, and in many ways I suppose I am already, but I'm not quite at that stage yet. Besides - I figure "what's the rush"?
It's not easy ditching scores of long-treasured beliefs, and human nature is to seek to replace them with something else. However, you're not in a race, and you have plenty of time to do research and discover things for yourself. The best thing is to keep an open mind and not be too dismissive of any ideas, provided they have evidence to back them up. That's the wonderful thing about being free from the Society's influence. YOU get to decide what is true and what isn't, based on evidence that is a bit more substantial than "because we say so" - although you will find yourself getting disappointed if your aim is to acquire total truth within your lifetime. I personally believe it's impossible to know the complete truth about everything within my lifetime. The best I can do is to figure out what ISN'T true, and pass this on. That way, I'm making the search for truth that little bit easier for future generations, including my children, if I have any.

We had a CO who had an obsession with brothers having what he termed "porcupine hairdos", which is basically just hair standing up through the application of hair gel/cream. He had a real fixation with it, and mentioned it in several of his talks whilst he was on my circuit. I think he enjoyed mentioning it because (1) it was evidently his pet hate, and (2) it raised a chuckle from the older ones in the audience. A few years later I attended a meeting in another circuit where he was the new CO. Guess what? He mentioned it again. Not surprisingly, he has since been retired - probably because he can't come up with original material.

What am I to make of this e-mail? In my mailbox this morning...
by Terry insecretsexposed ofprivate bethel meeting, gideon school to be phased out, governing body sweating big dollar$ pedophilia case in virginia, atf watching, etc first, if theres enough donated then the watchtower society and their lawyers stay in lawrence hughes lawsuit over the blood issue but if not he drops watchtower and their lawyers yet keeps the doctors in thus cutting court costs, plus the doctors will either (1.
) third party the watchtower lawyers, that is go after them or (2.
) otherwise the watchtower lawyers and doctors will still have to be cross-examined in court and any evidence gained can be used to press criminal charges and have their licenses to practice law revoked.

What the hell's "Gideon School"? How can they phase it out when it doesn't even exist?!!
If they're going to run a scam, they could at least TRY to make it believable!

I've attended one zone visit in my entire life, and quickly made my mind up that I wouldn't be going to any more. It was before my awakening and I was half expecting to hear some deep, profound truths explained in ways I could never have imagined. Instead, I got the dullest, most excrutiatingly predictable "state-the-obvious-athon" I've ever heard in my life. I couldn't wait for it to end.
I find the very concept of a "U.S. zone visit" hilarious, since it all seems very pointless. Isn't a zone visit essentially supposed to be a visit (which implies some amount of travel) by a representative of the Governing Body? Precisely how much travel is needed to wander down a few corridors from the Governing Body's boardroom to the U.S. branch offices? Does nobody else think it's a bit silly to give it so much hype?
