why jehovahs witnesses keep knocking on your door.

jehovahs witnesses keep coming to your door because they dont want you to be destroyed at armageddon.. all members believe they belong to the only true religion and every religion except theirs is from the devil, and that god will destroy everyone for not being a jehovahs witness at armageddon.

if they stop preaching they are told they too will perish because they didnt warn their neighbor, and will be held blood guilty for their deaths at armageddon.. they have been conditioned to have great faith in the watchtower and to let the watchtower control their life and their thinking, to them this is a matter of life, or eternal death.

Why love God?

should we love god and have faith in him because we are afraid of being annihilated if we don't?.

FIRST OF ALL, GOD CREATED A DIFFERENT WORLD THAN THE ONE YOU DISCRIBED ABOVE...JUST LEAVE IT TO MANKIND TO REARRANGE IT AND SCREW IT UP. SECONDLY, IF THIS WORLD WAS LIKE THE ANIMAL KINGDOM WHERE THE STRONG RULED, MANKIND WOULD HAVE KILLED ITSELF OUT OF EXISTANCE CENTURIES AGO. THROUGHOUT HISTORY THE MIGHTY AND EVIL HAVE FALLEN... THERE ARE DOZENS AND DOZENS OF EXAMPLES....JUST WHEN THE PENDULUM SWINGS AS FAR AS IT CAN, "SOMEONE" ALWAYS BRINGS IT BACK...AND THAT'S AN UNDENIABLE FACT (By the way, I'm not screaming with the CAPS, I just don't know how to distinguish from others quotes).

So just how exactly did 'man' rearrange the animal kingdom and 'screw it up'? You mean man made lions eat gazelles, and big fish eat little fish? And please don't run the 'Satan changed the animals' crap by me - it's VERY clear that the entire world runs on a 'eat or be eaten' cycle - this did not 'morph' from some other arrangements. Even eating vegitation is killing something. We kill to survive, plain and simple.

And yes, man lives and dies my the same rules. Invading armies concur new territories. "THROUGHOUT HISTORY THE MIGHTY AND EVIL HAVE FALLEN" - yes they have, and how? Someone else kills them. While maybe that 'someone else' is weaker in numbers, strength, etc - they are stronger in other ways - guile, surprise, plain old luck, etc. Even in the animal world sometimes a lion chokes on a gazelle bone and dies so the strong don't always win, but they almost always do.

question for any ex-bethelites....or anyone else who might know.. after serving (aka being slaves) at the brooklyn bethel my sister and brother in law are leaving because she is pregnant.

im just curious about something.

how long is it normally in such circumstances before a couple leaves?

Oh, and the funny thing was - in the 7-8 different halls I went to, there was usually one or two of those 'spiritual Nazi's' as we called them - you know the type - and NOBODY wanted to go in FS with them. Why not? Cause they would want to actually preach to as many houses as possible, driving quickly to the territory, not wasting time, not taking breaks, etc. No "let's make a call on the other side of the county" with them! So that pretty much shoots down the 99% theory for me!

And on the Pedos I wish everyone would get off the train of thinking people like Bill are saying that JWs are "Full of them" or "All JWs are pedos", etc. The problem is not the amount of pedos(one is too many), it's the fact that in many cases the elder body can hide them behind WTBTS policy to 'keep the org clean'. THAT policy needs to change.

Or were you really convinced that you had "the truth" and you were saving people's lives? Personally, I was in the last category, and I think 99% of the dubs are.

Ha ha ha ha! 99% of JWs are going door-to-door cause they are trying to save people lives? NOT! They're doing it because a) they are guilted/forced into it by family, b) they are expected to do it to retain social status amongst peers in their group. I'm not saying EVERYONE, I'm sure that some fall into the catagory of 'trying to save people' - but the vast majority are just bidding time out there knocking on not at homes for 5 mins to make the day pass more quickly. Oh, and dying for the moment they get to go 'on break' and visit Micky D's or Buger Fling.

The problem with the announcment of 'something big afoot' is that NO JW can stand to be 'out of the loop' and thus will want, no NEED to know just what 'something big afoot' is - so when Dateline finally airs many of them may be watching just from anticipation. We hope.

But I agree - it's more important to reach the general public, although as many have discovered, the world in general really could give a crap about JWs. I mean NOONE cares about them, JWs are nobodys to the world. And THAT pisses the JWs off!

Come to think about it - since the JWs are doing such a piss-poor job getting into China, India, etc, why aren't the stones over there talking? I mean, I know for the most part they're poor in those contries, but they DO have stones don't they?

i heard this weekend that a convicted child abuser was murdered in jail.

i knew him but i don't remember his first name.

Actually, it's been my experience that for the most part the decent elders have been 'removed' - or left from frustration. It's tough to remain a good apple in a barrel full of rotten ones. You either get out, conform to the rest of the power hungry, or at the very least sit quietly and take your lumps anytime you dare to cross the 'elite' 'glorious ones' ...

when you stop and consider the creation, the universe, and all the wonderful positive things that make up life itself (I know, it's hard)...when you do that and exercise just the tiniest bit of faith that Someone bigger than yourself, your friends or mankind in general reallycares about you and you journey in this life ... then the question will be easily answered.

Hmmm. Well as I see it, 'god' created a world where you eat or be eaten. Where you dominate or be dominated. Looking at the animal kingdom alone you see a very vicious life cycle. I think if 'god' were all lovy-dovey 'he' might have created a bit tamer world ...
