2) Who knows, since god's definition of who he feels like destroying is totally up to him. Maybe he'll be feeling constipated and irritable that day and just decide to wipe out the whole lot of us and create something better. Version 2.0 maybe?
reasoning from the scriptures says on pp95-97 that months consist of 30 days.. years therefore would be 360 days long.. i have calcaluted(sic)that for every year in the `western'calender such a 360 day calender would fall 4/5 days depending on whether it was a leapyear or not.
now over a period of 2520 years,a 360 day calender would be 9,940 days behind a 364/5 day calender(25 years!
) therefore 2520 years according to book of daniel would fall in 1889!.

They were mass-killing people right and left. Or for a quick course scan through the "My Book of Bible Stories" (a scary book made for kids) and it will get you to the 'good parts' quickly.

Yea, they changed the talk lineup. I don't recall all the details, but the ones that stuck in my mind were 1) no more intro/conclusion to bible readings. You just get up, read the verses and sit down. No commentary. 2) Replacing the bible reading (once a month?) every so often with reading the Watchtower. That one really grabbed me, I can't beleive they have the gall to replace the bible reading with a 'WT reading'. 3) somethign to do with the instruction talk, can't recall, but I think the Q&A part was removed. There were others, but that's all that I recall. In general, a real dumbing down of the 'school'. Oh and in a similar note, I heard the written review is no longer done anymore, just some 'review' part someone readds from the stage? No more preparing for it, no more Q&A after it.

in fact, gen. 1:30 states that all creation ate vegetation.
one could deduce also from the bible that the carnivore/prey cycle is not god's original plan and that possibly it would be done away with in a paradise earth (isaiah somewhere).

the dubs i know claim to "cook out" the blood, but this in no way meets biblical standards.
in fact the way meat is slaughtered doesn't come close to meeting kosher requirements in the bible.
Welcome Kudos. BTW, dying a slow maintained death over 8 months (by any means, blood xfusion or whatever) is a terrible fate, and I too would want the 'plug' pulled on me. But the story would be completly different if I were laying in a pool of my blood from cut/shot/etc, and I could be saved by transfusion, to live a full life again.
Take the time to find out the 'truth' about blood x-fusions - it may save your life someday. As it is, they are not the be-all, end-all treatment for whatever, but they are one weapon in a doctors arsonal to help save your life. In certain cases I might opt for a no-blood treatment, but I wouldn't kill myself over it.

Ah yes, one of the wonderful parts where someone would get on stage and read stuff from some book/mag/etc that we could simply read ourselves in 1/10th the time. Yet we had to listen to Mr Monotone read the crap out loud. Then we 'commented' on it by re-reading it into the microphone. Yes, truely blessed are JWs in their rich education, no need for college w/ study programs like that!
And hearing about the lastest changes to the Thurs night lineups, man oh man, are they dumbing this crap down. You don't even need to create a 30 sec intro/conclusion to the bible reading!? No doubt the mentally insane and retarded JWs will appretiate the new "blessings from Jehovah". The ones with even 2 brains cells to rub together will be futher driven to insanity and retardation. Or get out.

i need confirmation about a rumour i keep hearing about in my country.
several jw's who know about the wt-un affair are saying that in usa the wt is having the elders in the congregations give a speech accepting the blame for this scandal & asking for forgiveness or something similar.
The sun will explode before the crusty old fools in Croocklyn will ever admit to a mistake. Now I could beleive that they would disfellowhip one/several of the higher-up dudes and blame the mess on them. Then they can wash their hands of the matter and appear all holy again. Maybe the lawyers are preparing such a scenario right now ... I could see a lawyer power grab being in the works - especially since the GB is too old to change their own diapers any more.

My guess would be the same as yours ... it's hard to 'encourage' the US population by marching statistics about 3rd world countries when the JWs can look around them and see that there are 1/2 the people missing from the Thurs night brainwashing session meeting. Best to drop the matter and try and pretend that growth <> "'hovah's approval". Now they're playing the "love of the greater # cooling off" card.
