Where are all those fish lovers hiding after last nights complete embarrasement? Looks like Farve with a bum knee can still hurt the fishy boys. Doesn't help that the fish have a QB whose rating was hovering in the mid-20's for most of the game.
At least the pack pulled Farve out in the forth quarter and allowed the fish to score 10 points so that they wouldn't feel TOO bad about themselves

recently someone here wrote a thread which basically said that if a certain gb member had only spoken up and proclaimed that 1914 was a proven incorrect date, then the whole watchtower organization would have crumbled.
1914 was claimed to be the essential doctrine of the wt.
i humbly disagree.
The question is Fark, are the JWs that are left smart enough to put 2 + 2 together and realize that without 1914 the 'faithful & descreet slave' loses all authority? I doubt it. I bet they could ditch 1914 and not lose too many JWs. They would just go right on believing FDS=God.

as you may know, there are ones at the top of the organization that stand accused of pedophilia, etc.
as i remember, both greenlees and chitty have been exposed as such.. now there are accusations that ted jaracz is also.. ask yourself something: how did jaracz get to be at the top of a "christian" organization when almost nothing about his personality reflects anything that is christian?
which of the fruitages of the spirit could you associate with his conduct?.
I have to agree with Meta, but leaving room on the aide to realize that LoneWolf's ideas make sense too. The JW world, especially towards the top, rewards a no-questions following of rules and authority. So even the top dudes will fall in line with a strong personallity. Which allows the jackasses like Jaracs to rise themselves to the top by being assertive and pushy in their dealings with anyone under them. And their peers as well. Since voting is a 2/3rds thing, I can see power plays a-la congress style vote manipulation happening before major votes. Consolodation of power.
But it would not surprise me either if Jaracs had dirt on the people around him to keep them in line in worse case scenerios.

Brother MYOHNSEPH, we need to meet with you to help you readjust your thinking. Of course it was loving for god to zap Job's children, after all, he had to prove Satan a lier, right? That's way more important than some kid's life don't you know. Besides, they probably did something bad to deserve death anyway, like, I bet they masturbated. Yea, that's the ticket, they were evil.
Plus, drowning in a huge flood after wtching the waters rise for hours/days isn't the worst way to die ....

jehovas' witnesses are an interesting group.
they enjoy the freedoms and liberties that they receive by living in the united states, but at the same time they refuse to partake in voting, national celebrations and have basically created their own nation within a nation.
i find it hypocritical for them to act in this manner and believe that they should gather from around the world and all go and live together on some island.
That is a wonderful idea. Only one problem. I think that they would quickly restablish the stoneing laws from the Mosaic Law period, since they seem to be so in love with the old testimite (must be all that god killing people stuff that turns them on so). They would begin stoneing for things like - failing to meet the preaching hour requirement (ignoring the fact that there would be nowhere to preach), arriving at the KH 1 minute late, wearing a non-white shirt, and like offenses. Pretty soon there would only be 2 or 3 JWs left, probably at each corner of the island stockpiling rocks in a plan to assult the remaining 1 or 2 JWs.

elders were told, a few years ago that it is better to be merciful and err in the way of giving the benefit of the doubt than to disfellowship a person that was truly repentant, even though you had some reservations.
then, a sudden shift from the society was given.
if you weren't 100% sure that the person was truly sorry, and if you had some reservations, just disfellowship the person!
Kill 'em all and let god sort 'em out! Same attitude. Why not just go ahead and DF ALL the little JWs, then you would see which ones came crawling back. Plus, certainly they all have done something bad in the past few years and deserve to be DF'ed ...
