Your earliest doubt?
by Apognophos inthis might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

Let me get this straight about the FDS latest thinking
by wha happened? inso the fds does not include the apostles.
what part of the gospels aren't food at the proper time?
or am i just mixed up on who the fds are..

from what i understood (that is an overstatement trust me) is that there is two FDS. One that existed in the first century that the parable did not apply to and the one that exists today. The way they put it is, Jesus had no reason to ask "Who really is the FdS" because it was clearly the apostles.

she knew exactly how i felt. She has been my best friend since we were 15. Also, she already had doubts of her own, therefore, unless i had lied to her and said everything if fine and dandy, nothing unethical here.

they are new to the congregation since i left in 2002/3.. they were offering a dvd for deaf people to 'learn what god requires of me".
i said there were no deaf people here.. the other guy that was just standing there asked if there were deaf people in this area.

i was a servant who spearheaded a deaf group that went on to become a congregation. There are about 60 now out of the original 20 or so. Funny thing is only about 5 are actually deaf and they were already witnesses. The rest are mostly under the age of 30. Deaf people as a culture are very suspicious of the intention of others and pick up bull$&@t quick. You cant really sugar coat or beat around the bush with asl. So where in english the orgs info may be obscured with phrases or allegories; asl is very blunt, hence the masterbation video. Actually, seeing the watchtower studies in asl helped me to realise the stupidity and ineptitude of the great and powerful org

it has been a long time since i have posted here, so, here it goes. I have been back and forth for the last two years on whether or not to stay in this religion or not. Most of me wanted to stay for the same as many others, fear. Fear of losing thier friends. Fear of losing my loved ones. I recently married someone who was in as well. She was going through her own doubts, albeit, not as "developed" as mine. I decided, to give it one last shot partly for her and partly for my own undecisiveness on the matter. Well due to many recent developments and soul searching Imglad to say we are no longer just doubting. We wanted to fade away but it seems as though that will not happen. Its truly sad the things we all here must go through. We can never truly leave this all behind can we? i guess thats why this site even exists, to "vent" our frustration and to constantly "prove" why this religion is so wrong. In the few MINUTES that the news was leaked, we have already have been judged and even our mental state has been questioned. At least though ihave my wife abd we are there for each other. Im so sorry for those of you like punk of nice and others who cant. Stay strong and please know that you are all admired for standing up for what you believe in. Sounds trite and cliche but its true.

The truth is, the end is just around the corner. It could come right now. That end is our death. Thats the point Jesus was trying to make. What have we done to prove ourselves right now? If the Org was smart and humble they would leave the armageddon teaching and just focus on being "good" christians or people. Doing that, though, would mean relenquishing alot of power because the fear would be gone..or at least some of it.

Who's Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name NOW?
by headisspinning inthis thought isn't fully formed, but maybe someone can expand on it.... i've been keeping an eye on the situation developing with steven unthank's case against the wt in australia - how they have completely disregarded the law about child abuse registry checks for elders - and it seems to be that they've done the very thing we all lived in fear of doing: bringing reproach on jehovah's name.. they talk about how if jw's engage in wrong conduct they are bringing reproach on god's name, or how satan has heaped reproach on jehovah's name... well, it seems to me they are doing an awfully good job of it themselves.... in addition look at the qualifications for an elder as laid out in 1 timothy... with these words in mind, it seems to me the gb have since disqualified themselves.... 1 timothy 3:1-7 .
1 it is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
2 an overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,.

Hey there Headspinning!...Im particularly shocked that they, in a way, denied the existance of the FDS!....Too bad no one in the states knows of anything happening over there. I guess it wouldnt matter anyway unless the media really took hold of it.
