i have been reading posts here for several months, which has helped me to keep from going insane.
my doubts came when i finally got the nerve to leave a bad marriage, why did i stay so long.
because i was ashamed and really scared of what "jehovah" would think of me.

I spent 27 years in Borg, too. I think alot of new people must have come in around 1975 and now alot of the same ones are going out. You will be happy, you will feel secure, you will recover. she is a reporter for the religion section of the paper and she was interested and disgusted with what i told her--about the 2 witness policy.
Jesika, I think that is Fabulous!!! I have been emailing two Dallas Morning News Reporters with many of the silentlambs stories. They are the guys who do a lot of the Catholic Church abuse articles. Jehovah's Witnesses are ruled by a secret society with a secret set of rules. All of us stupid little Rank & File sit there studying our little Watchtower magazines, underlining our little answers, holding up our little hands. And we are so sure we understand the study, we understand the truth and so what?
as i survey my extended family and former congregation, a pattern clearly emerges.
it's a familiar one , called "bait and switch".. people hurt.
they suffer.
I had some friends whose marriage was in serious trouble. One sister suggested they go talk to the elders. I asked her,"Have you ever seen the elders help save any marriage?" She didn't want to answer. The wife eventually went to talk to the elders and the elders started a witch hunt to try to catch the husband in wrongdoing. They interrogated his friends but he really wasn't sleeping with anyone else and they hated that. They stalked him when he moved out to live with his fleshly sister and her husband. They were willing to find all kinds of crazy activities to engage in, but save the marriage?NO, they never attempted to save the marriage.
