Making friends in the "truth"

what is it about making friends in the organisation am i the only one who had found it tough?

don't get me wrong there was some good people but unfortunately there was also a lot of egotism, back stabbing, jealousy and gossiping.

i could never really fit in any group, everytime i thought i had found a group it was as if i would be sidelined or ditched.

As many here have perfectly touched on already, it is IMMPOSSIBLE to make TRUE friends in the WTS. Now, of course, we know there are always exceptions to this rule, but, unfortunately, it is the norm.

When you have a "group" of people, who's lives are intertwined together, but in a very high control, fear driven, conditional, setting. it makes for strictly unhealthy relationships.

Most TRUE feelings are suppressed, out of "fear" of being turned in to the elders. Many are literally "acting" how they perceive, that they need to be perceived, by the others there. All relationships are not based on mutual respect, admiration, or love, but are CONDITIONAL on "standing", whims of the day, and how the elders think everyone should act.

The kingdom halls are festering grounds of gossip, and cliques, and back stabbing people. Everyone, from the minor children, to the baptized pre-teens, to the 20, 30, 40 somethings, to the older ones, are ALL JOCKEYING FOR POSITION AND PRIVILEGE.

It creates an atmosphere of, I am better, because I have this privilege, or that privilege. I was baptized first, or I gave talks younger, or I am a pioneer, or a servant, or an Elder. Its all based on BULLSHIT titles.

At the end of the day, the people there are NOT true friends, it is all based on fake, shallow, ideals.

If you read that article, it REALLY shows how hypocritical the WTS is.

For DECADES, they have been condemning, idolatry, and this "worldly" system. Yet they, proudly, boastfully, hypocritically, and falsely, promote themselves with a LITERAL GOLDEN IDOL, from a "worldly" organization.

How dare they. This version of the GB, is the most blatant group of power hungry, deceitful, evil bastards, ever to sit in the throne rooms of Brooklyn.

Not only does this version of the GB, tell you to eat their shit, but they also make you have to tell them it tastes good too. SCREW YOU, you crusty old bastards, you have NO hold on my life anymore.

What would we all do if the watchtower collapsed tomorrow ?

It would be very FAITH strengthening to see the WTS collapse. I would probably dance in the street, singing "ding dong the witch is dead, the mean old witch, the no good witch".

Seriously though, the end of the WTS would be a wonderful thing for millions of people. There would be less LIES in this world. There would be less FEAR in this world. There would be one less mind controlling CULT in this world. There would be one less power hungry, GREEDY, organization in this world. There would be one less man made org that tears apart the very fabric of FAMILIES. There would be no more, poor, blinded people, dying from lack of taking blood.

The GOOD, that would come out of it, would be, hopefully, many families that were estranged for years, due to man made rules, could form relationships together again. Maybe, grandparents would meet some of their grandchildren for the first time. Maybe, nephews and nieces would meet Aunts or Uncles for the first time, or cousins for the first time. Children would be united with parents again, and brothers and sisters could hug and speak again.

The GOOD that would come of it, would be the self esteem of down trodden, brain washed people, being lifted up, from no longer being under the "yoke" of man made pressures. I bet, members health, and mental states would become better, if the WTS collapsed tomorrow. No longer would children be "raised" in a fear inducing, high control, youth crushing organization. No longer would people have to "act" in front of each other, and "pretend" to be something they really aren't, to people who really do not care about each other.

No longer would power hungry, self absorbed MEN, have anymore power or position over other humans in the congregations. Hopefully, these men who lauded their power over others, would become small, and insignificant, and whither away, as they finally realize that they were, and are NOTHING.

True friends, and those with true hearts, will instead rise from its ashes, and help each other, not for want of power, but for true love of each other.

The WTS, is a rotten tree, with rotten fruit. It is decaying from the top down, and inside out, and its days are numbered. Its old world, evil policies, of hate, and fear, are of a long bygone age, and it is nothing but utter and complete malice. The sooner it is cut down, torn asunder, the sooner life will flourish again, and minds and souls will be free.

One thing that I am 100 percent sure of, is that NOBODY in this thread TRULY knows if there is a God or if there is not one.

Many here have belittled others "opinions" on their belief in God, or no God, yet everyone here backed it up with their own "opinion".

Yes, BOTH sides will say, "BUT I have knowledge on this subject", and I have "proof of the subject", and" I have research", on this subject.

To all of you, I say, we all TRULY do not know anything, either way.

A Sister Stops the CO's Bullying

we had the co a few weeks ago.

i waited a few weeks for time to pass to post.

we now have a new co. he started in september and his first visit to our congo was a little while ago.

Its funny, but I often think about how different it would be for myself, if I was "IN" now. When I was a teen to early 20 year old, born in, I allowed myself to be bullied by "older" elders, and such. Sometimes I wish I was back there, as the 40 year old, successful, man I am NOW.

Now, I control the world around me, and would NEVER let myself be bullied by ANYONE, let alone some elder who thinks he is appointed by gOD, but is instead appointed in his own mind.

I would LOVE to be in the backroom with those MEN now. They would learn REAL QUICK, who was gonna walk out of that room "on top". They would learn real quick, that they have NO "power", and are NOTHING, worthy of NO respect, unless earned.

I can also, probably guarantee a few bloody noses, too. Last time I spoke to elders, I was a 160 pound boy, now I am a 230 pound, hulking MAN.

the majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.

upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.

again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

I am a fairly new member here, as I have joined this forum only about 4 or so months ago, and I can say that the "situation" that is mentioned in the OP, I have NOT experienced.

I, for one, was not loved bombed when I got here, and I do NOT mean to say this as a bad thing. I just jumped right into the conversations, and sharing of experiences that we all have from coming from a common "place" like being an ex or current JW.

I did not start a "welcome" thread for myself, either. I wanted to "show" myself by my posts, my thoughts, my opinions, and what I could contribute. As a whole, so far, I have pretty much gotten along with everyone here. I have started topics, I have posted in many threads, and I have read many things.

I do not feel any different from when I first joined, than to where I am here, months later. It seems to me, that most here are decent, sincere, and friendly people, and I am able to get along with most here. Differences of opinion, have not changed, from when I was "new", to now. I don't see it. No "love bombing", and fake welcoming, by anyone here, just instant friendships, and decent, intellectual discusions, both from the first day I joined till right now. Maybe, this is just my experience only, but it IS my experience, so far, here.

What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?

when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".

so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

@ - Longhairedgal - You know what it is too, is that in this Cult, the longer you are "IN", the more they feel they are entitled/deserved.

Being a spiritually "strong" JW means you are "sacrificing" by living a good WTS life. Its looked at like you have paid your "dues", by being in the borg for SO MANY years. If you are in the "truth" for 30 or 40 years, you must have "sacrificed" so many years of being moral, chaste, hours of field service, public talks, and following every whim of the GB and the congregations elders.

You MUST have paid your dues, if you have been a good JW for so long. So, you MUST be given extra "courtesy", and let some things be "swept under the carpet". Therefore the opposite is true, and when you are a younger person in the "truth", by simply being young, you could not have "sacrificed" as much as someone whos been "IN" for longer.

You are therefore treated with less respect, and more is expected. In other words, you are held to a, hypocritically, higher standard than someone else. Nope, you are not "equal" Christians in their eyes. Its all just another crock of BS that is very prevalent in this organization.
