What is the purpose of life?

while reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.

because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".

i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

lets try to think about this "logically", and i use that term loosely, because we are going to use jw "logic".. so, they say that satan is real.

@ NewYork44M - Lol, I agree, and have had a similar experience. When I was DF'd, I was told how Jah 's spirit would no longer be with me, and that my life was gonna turn to crap. They were able to get away with saying these type of things, because I was barely out of my teens, and they tried to scare me.

Well, fast forward 20 years later, and I have a beautiful family, self employed with financial security, tons of time with my children, and a very good life. Somebodies blessing me, lol.

A little over a decade ago, my old congregation had heard about my financial success, and certain accomplishments, and the jerk elder who DF'd me, actually gave a local needs talk about it, lol. He said that although "some" who are no longer in the truth, may appear to be happy, and have it all, they can never be truly happy, or being blessed. He also, said, that it even makes sense that they would be successful, because they were raised in the truth, and taught so much because of it.

Lol, you believe the balls on that guy. One thing I DO know, is I sure got into his "head", and made uite an impression on him.

Major congregational quake in Southern California

a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.

the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

One thing that some may not be considering, is that if the Borg starts to turn into an "e-religion", and also start consolidating into giant, mega, halls, with many combined congregations, this will go against another one of their "core doctrines".

For over a century the Borg has always emphasized the need for the sheep to meet very regularly together. This solidifies them as a group, and protects them from splinter groups popping up, and meeting in secret. Basically, its a way for them to keep tabs, and police everyone. Remember, those that meet up, and worship in solitude, will only pursue their own selfish desires, or at least that's what they have been telling everyone for decades.

Shifting to an e-religion, will really be going against this long held rule. Yes, I understand that they did away with the book study, but we know why that was. The emphasis is still to meet up weekly, regularly, and consistently. Also, if they consolidate congregations into, so called, "mega halls", this too would back fire, and go against their rules.

It will cause many to stop attending, especially on a regular basis. People will not want to travel further, and be put out even more. The Borg, is foolishly going to consolidate halls, but into still regular, normal sized halls, probably not mega sized Mormon type mega halls.

The rank and file will hate it, and resent it. The GB will still push their, "do as we say, even if it don't make sense", bullshit, but it aint gonna work.

Less K Halls, is gonna mean less JW's. Less JW's, and more lawsuits, is gonna mean less money for the Borg. Less money for the Borg, means its collapse is near.

So, they say that Satan is real. These are the last days. Satan is "roaring about", like a lion, with him and his demons "trapped" within the confines of earth. This is Satans last chance to really do his ultimate damage, before Armageddon.

So, now JW's believe they are the ONLY true religion. They are the ONLY ones that God speaks to, and through. They believe they are the ONLY ones who are proclaiming Gods name.

So, wouldn't Satans biggest target, be the JW organizations itself? Wouldn't Satan focus all of his energy, and demonic power, and resources, to totally annihilate, and take down the WTBS?

So, then why wouldn't it not be "logical" to say, that perhaps, just perhaps, Satan has "infiltrated" the ORG. That perhaps, Satan has gotten, and focused all his energy towards, and into the Governing body. That Satan is using them, to twist and pervert, the "word of God".

Namely, that perhaps, the Org was "taken over", taken hostage if you will, from the top.

Now, whether or not any of us actually believe this, is not the point. The point I am trying to make, is that we know that ALL JW's believe that Satan is real, and that the GB is the ONLY true org that God is using.

So, for all those of us who maybe are trying to reach a JW, and trying to get them to believe, and or understand, that the ORG is guilty of child sex abuse, blood guilt, KH cash grabs, a publishing company selling literature, a real estate company, a for profit corporation, a cult, and all the other evils the Org is responsible for, that maybe, just maybe, IT IS TRUE.

Maybe, it is true, because Satan wants to take down the Org. He would, logically, have been ONLY, if not mostly, focusing ALL his attention into bringing down the WBTS, and maybe he accomplished this. Like how in the 1st century, the Jewish priestly class, of Scribes and Pharisees, WAS taken over by Satan, and in turn THEY put Jesus to death.

Now, when Jesus returns, in these final days, maybe, just maybe, he WILL find that the "caretakers" of the Org, are NOT worthy of running it, and having the "keys". That an evil slave has taken it over, and by JW "logic", this should only make sense.

Let's let some of those JW's that balk at all the "apostate lies", have a new way of really thinking about it, and that maybe, just maybe, IT IS TRUE. The first shall become last, and the last shall become first.

When you were fully in, did you believe that you would not die?

i know that it must seem silly to ask, but my brother and his family think that the big a will arrive before they die.

i tried to explain to my brother that everyone else who has ever lived in the past has died and only jesus has [physically] rose from the dead.. it is amazing that anyone could buy that line.

what crazy cult culture that could make people believe such nonsense?!.

I was a "born in", so in turn, I was fully indoctrinated to believe I would never die. I remember being very young, like 5 or 6 years old, and saying to my Dad, "WOW aren't we so lucky that we will be the first people, ever, to never die".

My Dad would agree, and we would feel great about it. However, as time passes on, and life, and the world changes around us, we start to realize that maybe this fairy tale is not true.

Like others have said, I heard many older JW's tell me they were never going to pass away, as the big A, was just around the corner. Like we all know, these older ones are long gone now.

Its funny, but the only times I ever step into my old Kingdom hall, or any Hall, is when one of those older ones passes away. Every time this happens, I am getting older, and older, and these older ones are getting less, and less.

Whats funny, is I stare straight at, and sometimes even say hello to, the "head" elder who DF'd me. It is VERY empowering to stand there, with my head held high, OVER 20 years later from being DF'd by this man, and the big A is still NOT here. All this man fought for, and all the people he judged, and hurt, and condemned, so far is for NOTHING.

We are all "equal" men, when death comes for us. This elder will, no doubt, still see me every few years, when someone older passes away from my childhood. He will still see me, as the big A will, no doubt, not be here. As the decades pass, everyone in this cult must realize that ALL they believed is certainly a sham. I will most likely be attending the elder who DF'd me's OWN funeral, in the near future. He will be gone, and forgotten, like the rest.

My Father, and Mother are both still alive. They truly believed that they would maybe never die, sadly, I know they do not think this any longer. They realize that we all, will most likely pass away, as did all before us. My parents were NOT narcicisstic people. They didn't believe they wouldn't die, out of some feeling that they were more special than other humans. Instead, it was from a sort of "romantic" thought, that life would just be too cruel, if a creature like humans, could contemplate their own existence, and have the desire and will to live forever, but yet had to die, in the end. My Father never wanted to except that this was, all for nothing. The thought of a loving creator, who would "balance" the scales, appealed to his sense of justice.

I feel bad for my parents as they grow older each year. Fortunatelly, they do NOT shun me, or my family, and their beautiful granddaughters. These are the things that keep us going, and help them thru, in their last days here on earth.

I can assure you, it would be a much more bitter pill for me to swallow, if I did not have my children. Thinking that you would never die, and then coming to the realization that you WILL, was hard for me. I am still grasping it. Having my 2 girls, and enjoying life, as best we can, as a family, has certainly softened the blow. To those that wanted children, and never had them, because of the policies of this evil CULT, you are the true victims. To me, once you reach the end of your child bearing years, and realize it was for nothing, must be one of the hardest things to endure. I truly feel for all those who have endured this.

i absolutely cannot believe how quickly he became a jehovah's witness.

in the span of less than a year, he attended his first meeting, studied, got baptized, became a pioneer, and married a jw girl.

Doesn't the weather kill thousands of humans around the planet, each year? Between hurricanes, tornados, mud slides, flooding, destructive winds, and droughts, if Jesus and the anointed are "controlling" the weather, they sure have a TON of blood guilt on their hands.

Unfortunately, before the internet was around, most anti-JW info, was passed on thru reading, and word of mouth. If someone got hold of some really life changing information, they would usually discuss it with their close JW friends, and family.

The problem with this, is that it contributed, and gave credence to, the whole "apostate, causing division in the congregation" label. There were MANY who knew they risked a lot by even discussing this with others, yet they still took the chance, as they felt it was worth it. There were also many who were too scared to say a word.

Those that did expose the TTATT, usually had 1 of 2 things occur. They were a "lone wolf", that was DF'd for being contentious. They were labelled, and branded as an "apostate", the worst offence in JW land. The second outcome, was usually that a group of people came together, and realized that the Borg was wrong. They collectively were branded as a contentious group, and all parties usually left, or were DF'd.

It took a lot more courage, I feel, to expose the TTATT, back in the 70's and 80's. The information was not readily available, and it was much easier for the org, or elders, to discredit someone. The "apostate" was easily branded as a "crazy person", or whacko. The R&F easily went along with it, and gave it no more thought.

I specifically remember, when I was a kid in the mid 80's, a "group" in my congregation that were DF'd for "apostasy". They got caught up in the "witch hunts" at that time, which were very prevalent. Fred Franz was on an obsessive mission to "weed out", these apostates. It was on the heels of Ray Franz's book, and DF'ing. My old congregation when I was a kid, was 15 miles outside of Brooklyn bethel, and quite a few in my congregation had ties to the Franz's, and other "big wigs".

This led to a lot of people taking sides, and many who took Rays side, got the boot. Knowing what I know now, you learn to realize how RIGHT those "apostates" were, and the sacrifice and courage they had.

Does God communicate with humans today?

there seems to be confusion within christianity regarding whether or not god communicates with humans today and if he does, how does he do it?.

- does god still insert thoughts into people's minds today or is that something which he only did in the past?.

- some maintain that god is no longer giving persons dreams/visions or speaking directly to them or sending angels to speak with them today but he will nevertheless insert thoughts into their minds to guide them.

Of course God communicates with humans. He talks to these 7 old guys that live in NY. It is a little weird that God only talks to them, but it just has to be real. Nothing about that seems suspicious at all.

In fact, if it seems CRAZY, and PSYCHOTIC, from a human stand point, we shouldn't question it. We should just simply obey, even if it goes against our instincts, and reason, and appears to be the most absurd thing. I mean we have to do that too, cause those 7 old guys, said this, and God talks to them, and only them. Wow, we are SO LUCKY that we know the ONLY 7 humans that God talks to.

JW elder on the street I live in.

so just the other day i happened to look out my window to see the cobe and the elder who studied with me on the doors.

it got me thinking.. i remember one day, during my study that he said he loved me.

although he meant this as a "brother" it actually sent me into, what i can only describe as shock and alarm!

I have always said, that the average JW, cares more for a total stranger they meet at the door, than a "weak" one within their own congregation.

When the "love" is fake, which most of the time it is, they don't care for a "weak" one in the congregation, because that "weak" one cant do/give them anything.

What the average JW wants, is accolades, studies, hours, and SUPERFICIAL nonsense, that JW'ism has taught is what is really important.

It is NOT about the person, or human, they are studying with. It is about the time they can count from that person. It is about the "praise" that comes with having a study. It is about being able to put a number 1, under the "study" row on a time card.

If you are a study, or basically a STRANGER, you are "love bombed", and it appears on the surface to be such a loving group of people. However, as you look just beneath the surface, you see something very different, and far uglier. The "candy coating" is covering a rancid, and deep "rot". A "cancer" of evil thrives, just under the skin. All dead, all rotten, all putrid. This "disease" spreads like a "plague", and permeates most in the congregations.

"The stench, and sins, have amassed high into the heavens". Beware those that come with a phony smile, and pat on the back. These ones do not bring "true love", only conditional, false, copies, of what they think love is.
