Can baptism be considered a legal verbal agreement?

based on the requirements set forth and the questions answered at the end.

i believe this question has been asked before.

the fact that you can only be expelled after having been put under this oath of allegiance and that you have witnesses to you making this agreement ( i remember my name was shout to the crowd when i entered the pool ).. if it can be considered so, would there be a legal ground to say minors can not enter this agreement?.

I, however, can give a specific example about myself. I was baptized at 13 years old, obviously a minor. Personally I had truly no idea what it "REALLY" meant. We all know the story though, its what you "have" to do, or you are looked down upon.

Well, by the age of 17, I was unfairly DF'd. This was literally still as minor at the time. I had to deal with ALL the negatives that come with being "thrown out" of everything I had ever known. I lost the ONLY people I ever knew, it was highly traumatic.

Most DF'ings occur when we are adults, and everyone knows how hard, and traumatic that is, imagine being a minor.

Suffice to say, that event has truly impacted my life in a negative way. It defined further pain, and mental, emotional suffering, for the rest of my life.

This was done to me due to a verbal "contract", which was created when I was a minor, and the negative actions were also done to me as a minor.

Why could I not sue the org, for abuse to me, both mentally, and emotionally, BECAUSE of a verbal contract that I committed to at the age of 13? I did NOT continue to understand, and become a willing participant into adulthood, I was canned as a minor too.

The announcement is going to be, that the GB/Org MUST sell off many of its Kingdom Halls that are distributed around the world.

They are going to say that this "sell-off" has nothing to do with the "work" slowing down, or that we are still very much in the end of this system.

They are going to blame it on "necessity" of the financial burdens that it takes to "run" an organization that is spread around the earth.

They are going to say that we ALL must sacrifice at this time, too. Therefore many will have to travel further to their new Kingdom Halls, as many congregations will need to be consolidated do to the selling off of Kingdom Halls.

They will then say, we know this may be an additional burden on some, but we should always be willing to "sacrifice" for Jehovah. This should NOT be a reason to leave the Org, or no longer attend the meetings. Instead we should firm up our resolve, further determining to serve Jehovah.

In truth this announcement will be made to COVER OVER what is REALLY going on. The BORGs plan of "taking over" Kingdom Halls by "forgiving" mortgages so that the BORG can actually OWN the properties, is now reaching its final phase.

This IS the sell-off and cash grab, as the BORG IS in financial downfall, and due to lawsuits and MANY other reasons, they need the money from the sales of these Kingdom Halls.

This is what this announcement will be about.

satan supposedly wanted to be like god and be worshiped - you know, the whole pride thing.

they really made a big deal about how his "thoughts" led to his sin in the garden of eden and how we need to control our thoughts to avoid the same result.

The only thing I can think of, would be maybe by him "coming out", he would also be PROVING that God himself exists, too. Really you cant have one without the other, lol.

I am not saying this as fact, I am just following your train of thought, which I actually think is a good one. It does make sense that if Satan wanted ALL the power and glory, wouldn't he want to be front and center, idk.

There is the famous saying, that the greatest trick the Devil ever did was to convince the world he doesn't exist. Perhaps by remaining in the "shadows", he can control the world, and deceive humans away from God. Kinda like the "power that be", that conspiracy theorists believe TRULY run the world. They want to use a puppet government, while they stay behind in the shadows, ushering in the "new world order", while controlling the money and power.

OR, its all a bunch of bullshit, and is an ancient fable to help other men, control other men. If a priestly class can make other humans believe a Satan exists, and ONLY they have the power to save you from him, then they have control over those people. Sounds like what the evil slave, the Governing body, is doing to over 8 million people right now.

Would you consider mentally, emotionally, and psychologically, ignoring someone merciful? Would you consider ignoring a person during their, perhaps, greatest NEED, merciful?

Would you consider cutting someone off from perhaps the ONLY human beings they have EVER known, and interacted with, due to archaic rules, merciful?

Would you consider pushing away someones hand, when they are reaching out for help, merciful?

Would kicking someone while they are down, be merciful?

Would publicly humiliating, and shaming someone, because their sins were INVENTED by men, merciful?

Would you consider all the shunning that is happening, be SOLELY happening because of being JUDGED by a fellow human being, merciful?

Why don't they give specific examples of these so called "cultures", where in beards would be the equivalent of practically tattooing a swastika on your forehead.

Its so ridiculous, really. Like most of their "stands", they cowardly double talk, and blur the message. Its left up to "interpretation", but interpretation by WHO. The dipshits who are in "charge". Who decides whats acceptable, and what "culture" accepts it or not.

I can see the Elder in charge of congregation "A", "demonizing" beards, because HE cant grow one, and has a newborn baby peach fuzz on his face. Then Elder in charge of congregation "B", will have no problem with beards, and look down on the less "manly" brothers who don't where a beard to resemble Jesus.

Its all the same shit, you CAN take this part of blood, but NOT that, you CAN wear a beard here, but NOT there. HYPOCRATES.

by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

These are exciting times my friends! These are the stones falling, before the avalanche. This will be a domino affect of destruction for this CULT.

Their own arrogance will be their undoing. Their own self proclaimed delusions, will be what brings them down.

The closet doors are slowly opening. The skeletons are now, finally being exposed for ALL to see.

WE can help in bringing them down, by simply helping to expose them. The links to the articles should be photocopied by us, and distributed to news agencies, billboards, public areas, and even handed out to the rank and file JW's we see working the CARTS. All we have to do, is have them copied and ready to go. We can walk up to a cart and hand it to them.

The most important thing we can do to HELP the victims, and HEP that no more get victimized by this hateful CULT, is to send letters to the San diego court system that is handling these cases. We should THANK them for their diligence, and the good they are doing to help the victims. This will let THEM know that people ARE watching this, and interested in this, and that MANY want JUSTICE. Let them know in San Diego, that WE ARE COUNTING ON THEM FOR JUSTICE.

I bet the fines WILL go up, when they KNOW the world is watching.

The WBT$'s use of the "new light" scripture on EVERY turn, and "interpretation", and to justify ALL its MISTAKES, almost borders on OBSESSION.

Never have they had to use that scripture as much as they have in recent years. It is truly a testament to their FAILURE as being "inspired".

Really, at the end of the day, this modern version of the BORG's whole doctrine is hinging upon the "new light" scripture. It is the cornerstone of their existence, at this point.

It is, literally, all they have left. It is all they can quote, and rely on, at this point. It is ALL about BLIND OBEDIENCE, based on a CULT whos core doctrine hinges on "new light".

It is shamefull. This is no longer a religion of intellectual, interpretations, and logical findings, unearthed by well learned men. It is WEAK, and FALSE, it sways with the wind. There is NO foundation, any longer. It is built upon the shifting sands of "new light".

Their obsession with holding on to "new light" as their last straw, is making them MAD. It is driving them further into CULT mode. OBEY or DIE, is basically their MOTTO, lately. That's "new light", for ya.

i started this topic because i had been thinking recently about a story that i had heard many times in different congregations over the years.

kind of a jw urban legend if you will.

Hey Time Bandit, I remember being told a story from my own Father. It was concerning an older, German brother, in my Fathers old congregation in NYC.

This brother had a very heavy German accent, and was kind of "old school" in his tough demeanor, and NO nonsense, kind of way.

Well, him and an older sister were working out in service, and when they approached the door, a very large German shepherd was standing on top of the stairs before the door.

The dog was snarling, and barking, and appearing to be vicious. The older sister was terrified. The older German bro, however, said something in German to the dog, and kept repeating, "Do not worry sister, Jehovah will protect us".

The brother walked up the stairs, towards the vicious dog, pulled out a pair of gloves, and proceeded to WHACK the dog square on the snout, with the gloves.

The dog, stopped barking, yelped out a cry, and ran right off away down the stairs. The brother looked at the sister and said, "see, I told you Jehovah would protect us". Then, I assume they knocked on the door, and the householder probably told them to go away, anyway, lol.

The point is, it wasn't Jehovah who "saved" them, it was this hard assed German brother, who whacked the dog on the nose. Yes, HE had the "strength" to do it, HE had NO FEAR, HE had FAITH, you could say, but it was still HIM.

Another interesting thing, too, is that I have heard other variations of this story, and do indeed believe it to be a JW "urban legend" of sorts. I give credence, to this story, specifically, because my own Father told it to me, and actually KNEW the brother. There ARE many JW "legends", however, and they are "used" as faith strengthening anecdotes, and probably either encouraged or even started by the GB.
