I just noticed something. The sign on the wall on the left, is in another language. Are they trying to imply that this dress is prevalent amongst whoever speaks that language, or is that nationality? Does anyone know what language that is?

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?
by HereIgo ini have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.
thoughts?.

The most hypocritical thing that I have seen MOST JW's do, is say they are loving, and part of a loving organization, while ignoring fellow human beings, and shunning others, for nonsense "offenses".
I have seen bethelite brothers, that were good speakers, and appeared to be SOOO spiritual to the rest of the congregation, get piss poor drunk every weekend.
I caught quite a few elders in lies. The old presiding overseer in my congregation, judged me personally, and said I was responsible for all the problems, and bad spirit, in the congregation, because of MY sins. Meanwhile, he was the "head" of the hall, as the presiding overseer, and he was abusing his wife, physically and mentally, and his 2 daughters emotionally.
Another hypocritical thing that occurred in my old congregation, was an older sister needed intense physical therapy for an injury, but her insurance would no longer pay for it. Well, she found out that the YMCA would provide the exact therapy she needed, and for FREE. The elders, via the org, said she could NOT benefit from the free, NECCESSARY, therapy, because it was at the YMCA, and that was a "worldly" organization. Yet, we all know that the Borg, was a member an NGO member of the United Nations.
Now that, is hypocritical!

What the idiots on "top" don't even realize, is that if the "image" of the youth in the Organization WAS the bro's on the right, it probably WOULD draw more young ones into the organization.
The Borg bitches, and is freaked out that there are no more young ones staying, and joining anymore. Well maybe if they allowed the "look" on the right, it would change the image, and make some feel more comfortable joining. Or, perhaps, that the org, maybe isn't sooo uptight, after all.
The bros on the right, are still dressed modestly, and nicely. They look fashionable, in certain circles. They look like they take pride in their appearance. They look "clean", approachable, educated, and perhaps easy to talk to.
Did the idiots in charge ever think that maybe that could help MORE people be receptive to the "truth". Its not like they are walking around with dyed pink mohawks, and their lips and eyebrows pierced. Which, very well, probably WOULD scare some people away. Nope, its quite the opposite.
It really just emphasizes how out of touch, homophobic, and uneducated, the ignorant "leaders" of the man made religion are.

Elder's remark about contributions not being made
by Simon Templar ini am still in and was assigned to collect the contribution after the meeting.
i checked the boxes with another brother and there was nothing inside.
no contributions were made that day.

Its so true, the WTS makes themselves out to be sooo different, by not sending out a collection plate, but if your numbers are down as a congregation, you better believe you WILL hear from the boys in NY.
Another thing that I always found suspect, even as a child, was how at EVERY assembly, they NEVER had enough money when they gave the financial announcement. It was always, " brothers we are in a deficit, and we need this much thousands to break even". Well I smell BS, cause it couldn't possibly be the same thing EVERY time.
It was there way of guilting everyone to drop in more money. Scumbags.

Why Marrying An Outsider Is NOT A Disfellowshipping "Offense"
by Divergent inso yeah, i was thinking about this.
marrying an unbeliever is considered to be wrong, but at the same time, it is not a disfellowshipping "offense".
well, the reason is simple: there is more to gain than to lose by not disfellowshipping.

La capra - I have seen very similar hypocrisy too, in my old congregation. In fact, elders children getting away with everything, while others are "marked" for the same offenses, is RAMPANT in the org.
Your attitude was commendable, I would do the same thing when I used to see the hypocrisy.

ls homosexuality really normal?
by atomant inl know animals do it but their animals.they dont live by a moral code.the thought of 2 men going for it is not normal.what are your thoughts?.

The way I feel, personally, is that there are so many bigger, real, problems in this world, that caring what someone does in the privacy of their own bedroom, shouldn't even be worth worrying about.
Personally, I really could care less about if homosexuality is "normal". Its not "normal" for me, cause I am heterosexual. It is "normal" for my best friend in the world, cause he is homosexual.
He respects me, and I respect him. We are the best friends in the world, and have been since childhood. I love him, as my best friend. All I care about is him as a person, and our friendship.

I just remembered, but one time a brother and I, were going door to door, and a man answered the door in only his underwear. I was like 12 years old at the time. The other brother was pissed off at him, lol.

Any Others of the "Anointed"?
by Hernandez ini was baptized in 1985, was a regular pioneer, ministerial servant, and on the way to becoming an elder when i left the witnesses in 1999. i also was one of those who claimed and (at the time ) believed i was one of the anointed.. i am wondering if there are any others here who also claimed they were of the anointed?
how did you come to that conclusion?
how do you feel about your claim now that you are out?.

My ex--wives Father claimed to be anointed. Whats interesting, however, is that at the time he was "anointed", he was DF'd. He had been DF'd officially for smoking, but the elders were gunning for him, because he would conduct private studies, and bible discussions, with other witnesses. To the elders, this was a NO NO.
Anyway, he had been DF'd for many years, when his "anointing" happened. He told me that it occurred one night, when he was at his mothers house, and a heavy wind blew off some siding on the house, lol.
To be totally honest, I don't take away what someone feels, but my ex-father in law, would be considered someone who has slight mental problems, to be truthful.
I also knew a brother who was NOT even an MS, and obviously not an elder either. He was a business partner of mine, and out of nowhere, claimed he was anointed. Nobody really questioned him that much, and the brothers in the congregation, didn't give him a hard time for it. They went the way of saying it was between him and Jah.
Now, to be honest again, he also, was kind of a character, too. Not flat out mental issues, like my Vietnam vet, ex-father in law, but more of a socially awkward type person. He had decent business sense, and some other admirable qualities, but he was a bit weird, too.
Anyone I knew personally, that said they were anointed, and was NOT an older, longtime, Bethelite, brother in the "truth" for YEARS, did seem to have mental issues, on the outside. However, I don't judge anyone, and who knows, maybe REALLY being anointed, and stuck in the JW cult, will make you a little nutty. Its not for me to say.

I don't think you are being overly sensitive. That is weird, and not normal to do that.
Now, if I was by myself, and saw that, I probably wouldn't care though, honestly. Yet, if I was with my 8 year old daughter, and this man stripped down to his underwear, without caring that children were around, I would be PISSED.
If he did that in front of my daughter, I would put my daughter in the car, and then go over to him, and toss him a beating. I keep an aluminum bat in the trunk of my Chrysler. Most likely, I would wrap the bat, around his head, with one swing.

What were two Chinese doing in Roman London?
by fulltimestudent inin the ancient world, people moved around much more than we may have expected, (think of paul's reported journeys and those of his supporters), but the identification of two skeletons in a roman era burial ground, as chinese has surprised historians.. the uk bbc reports: .
dr rebecca redfern, curator of human osteology at the museum of london, told bbc radio 4's the world at one, the find was "the first time in roman britain we've identified people with asian ancestry" and it was "absolutely phenomenal".. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-37452287.

Maybe they were delivering the Romans a lunch special, of Wonton soup, and egg rolls. I betcha they got there really quick, too. Man, they have the best food, sometimes. and they will deliver anywhere.
