The Ride

the ride!.

about 2 weeks ago i went on a one day motorcycle ride with about 50-60 other jw’s.

(at least most of them claimed to be dubs) it’s an event that 2 jw fleshly brothers put on every year.

No, it sounds fake, and in no way am i saying that it really is fake. What i mean is, i never heard of, or experienced anything like that with 50 to 60 Jws.

Maybe, because they are motorcycle riders, they are more open minded, flexible, and human, than the average JW. I know that when i was "in" many years ago, brothers riding motorcycles was actually frowned upon, and while they wouldnt outright say it, it was used against you. Even privileges were held back in some circumstances, because of it.

So, maybe motorcycle riding JW's are already open minded, more so, freer thinkers, and not so "in the box", making them more level headed.

In my old congregation, there would have never been an elder, who was a motorcycle rider, maybe MS's, but not elders.

I have personal knowledge of this, intimately. My father IS an avid motorcycle rider. He owns a Harley sportster, AND a Valkyrie, and he is indeed considered a "rebel" in JW land, trust me.

Ten years ago - Our congregation held a leaving party for us

ten years ago, truthseeker and his family and other witnesses who were moving to different congregations were given a congregation leaving party at a community hall in new jersey.

i had been planning my slow fade from the congregation for a while.

i grew up in the south coast of england as a third generation jw and moved to america in july 2001. .

Good for you, in getting your family safely out of the Cult. Its crazy the things some need to do, to just try and separate themselves from this organization, and the pushy elders and higher ups.

I do have to say, i laughed out loud a bit, when you said how at the "moving party" the microphone made it to you, and you had to address everyone, and tell them where you were "moving" lol. You must have been like a deer in the headlights, lol.

It never fails when you are trying to remain in the shadows, and then the spotlight gets shined right on you, lol.

North American History - Red George MacDonnell

i have come across this individual in the course of some local history research - back in the late 18th c his aunt and her husband owned the estate where i now live and his parents settled nearby.

he gets credit for a victory at ogdensberg in the war of 1812.. is 'red george macdonnell known to the average american/canadian or is he an obscure figure?

Very interesting stuff. I am a self proclaimed history scholar myself, with the American Revolution, Civil War, and WW 2, being my top indulgences.

I have interesting Revolutionary War history, both in where i grew up/born and raised, and where i currently live, only 20 minutes away, but in another state.

Where i grew up was in one of the boroughs of NYC, specifically on Staten Island, and more specifically in the southern most point of Staten Island and NYC, an area called Tottenville. Well it just so happens that Tottenville has an old building called the Conference house, which was only a few minutes from my own home growing up.

This house was built in the early 1700s, and was one of the only homes on the Island during the time of the American revolutionary war. At that time it was called the Billop house. Its name later got changed to the Conference house, because during the height of the war, both Washington, and Jefferson, and some of the top military brass, had an impromptu war meeting, while being chased by the British army.

This house now sits, mostly untouched, name "The Conference House", and on a city park. Interestingly, its right on the water, and acroos this body of water is Perth Amboy NJ. The British chased the Americans over this water, into NJ, all the way down to Monmouth NEW Jersey, where the battle of Monmouth courthouse happened.

Whats funny, is i now live in New Jersey, and only 20 minutes from that battle site. I definitely grew up, and lived right in the heart of where the roots of the American nation were formed.

Are they clones?

anyone else notice this about jw public speakers.

they all seem like clones.

they have the same mannerisms, try to use the same style of speaking, similar jokes, etc.

Its true, there is a certain "brand" of fake, monotone, weird, and odd speaking that is "championed" by this modern version of the borg.

What the higher ups consider or think is a good speaker is what each speaker tries to emulate. Having the Org videos is also adding to this, as the R&F watch these vids of certain emulated brothers, and try to imitate them.

This is a by product of a Cult, where certain natural expressions of "freedom" are not allowed. When certain weird speakers happen to be "up there" in the JW hierarchy, it creates a lot of following the leader type crap.

They all look like robotic, weirdos, and this is who are "teaching" the rank n file, and youth of this Cult.

And, in answer to your question, YES they ARE clones. The Borg has a cloning factory in upstate NY. They are genetically splicing, robotics, odd facial gestures, haughty attitudes, and weird mannerisms, into the DNA of these clones.

Us "apostates" are the rebel alliance, and soon we shall be fighting the "Clone Wars".

They are increasingly appealing to emotion

they always have but lately, they've taken it to a whole new level.

the new convention video about the end, the many videos at conventions and meetings, the new songs, all highly emotionally manipulative.

and they're working.

Yes, they are doing this. The reason is because nothing else is working. Their doctrine is all but insignificant. The level of content is beyond basic.

They are non existent in the field, and publishing areas. Their flip flopping on MAJOR doctrine, is failing them. The information age is exposing them, and the R&F are leaving in droves. No more quick builds, branches closing, and congregations merging or closing.

The Borg is OUT of options. They NEED to rely on "emotion" and "shock", and if it SCARES, or FRIGHTENS some to stay, then they are happy to do that.

Their problem is that these types of "shock" videos, while they may stir some emotion at the time, do NOT work long term. After EVERY assembly every JW is like, "Oh that was the best assembly ever". Then its back to the same old BS.

Yes, you may see some tears, and reactions, but after awhile, when ALL they have to offer is ONLY an emotionally charged video at the end of each assembly, its going to be become the "same old thing", again.

There are some that will never leave, and always drink the "kool aid". Honestly though, anyone with even a tiny bit of critical thinking, is going to say, after awhile, "what ARE the GB trying to say"????

All they are going to see, as there is NOTHING else being produced of substance, is a bunch of these "scary" videos YEAR after YEAR, with NOTHING changing. Its no different than the "scary" Armagedon pictures we used to see in the publications, except, these vids ARE more graphic, and after awhile its message will mean NOTHING, as it does to us NOW.

There is NO "payout" with these vids, they just cause more questions, and more head scratching, especially when its the same BS every assembly or convention.

How about an axe thats chopping down a giant tree. The axe can have the word "truth" on it, or "freedom", or something else appropriate.

The tree being cut down, would naturally represent the Borg, so you could put symbols, or items in the tree, that represent the borg. Or even the "fruit" of the tree could be rotten or symbols that represent the borg.

The axe could be stuck in the base of the trunk of the tree, while the tree itself is cut and in the middle of falling to the ground.

This can represent the collapsing of the borg, the end of your involvement in the borg, as you are the axe, or the wielder of it.

the public is getting very upset at the abuse of children.

how would the society survive if hit with this kind of award for the conduct of pedophile members when evidence shows they were trying to silence the victim by threats to protect the watchtower's reputation.

This was a no brainer. If you give an animal a gun, like this security company did, without background checks and proper due diligence, they DESERVE to be sued for this amount of money and put out of business.

Imagine this was your 14 year old daughter, and some animal who was irresponsibly given a loaded weapon, used said weapon to RAPE your child.

No amount of money could fix that, but at least this amount can give some solace.

CO asked for everyone 20 years old & younger for a group photo

there was a co visit in ohio a couple weeks ago.

when he was finishing up his sunday talk he said that he would like if "all the children that are from this congregation, not if you're just visiting, but from this congregation to come on up on the stage right after the meeting because i want to get a picture of you.".

i thought to myself, why?

The scary thing about these "youth" pictures, is i bet years from now we are going to find out that most of these pictures were strategically placed under each C.O.s mattress, for "personal study".

"World conditions have never been as bad as they are now"

i went to a funeral yesterday and ran into a jdub.

of course, he approached me and it didn't take more than a minute into the conversation for him to get into the jdub gloom and doom mode.

he said that world conditions have never been as bad as they are now.. i looked straight into his eyes and said, "i think that world conditions were a lot worse during world war two.".

It can easily be argued that at this point in human history things are better than they ever were. Up until the modern inventions of antibiotics and other marvels of modern medical care, people were dying of ear infections, and the flu, and "common" ailments that today we take for granted.

Wars in our past were extremely more brutal, and widespread. The brutality of the American Civil war to the 2 World wars of last century are examples of this. Things are also perspective as well. If you were sold into slavery as an African, in the 17th or 18th century, then you were living in the worst "days". If you were starving in an impoverished country, no matter what time period, those were the worst times for your history.

If you were a Jewish person during the Holocaust, you were most likely thinking you were in the "final days". If you were an American indian during the 17 and 1800's, slowly watching your culture and people being wiped away, that was your Armageddon.

There are countless examples that could be given, and during ANY century of documented human existence, that could be argued were the "worst" times in history, especially if you were on the "wrong end" of it.

Yes, there are still plenty of current horrors that are befalling people around the earth. Yet, we have the best medical care EVER. We have the most educated groups of people and opportunity for education, around the planet, especially with modern technology, than ever before. Our life expectancy, and birth rate are greater than ever. Mass starvation, and epic famines, are no where near the scale of what they were only 20 years ago.

It can be argued that with the continued break thrus of modern technologies, and the sharing globally of thoughts and ideas via the internet, we are going through a modern "renaissance" so to speak. The quality of life for MOST, and on the largest scale ever, has increased exponentially, and is only getting better.
