when i finished my lunch and was walking back to my office...lo and behold....witnesses ....with their little blue tags.....everywhere!.
Yes, it's the convention. ugh...and it's at the Tarrant County Convention Center. My favorites are, however, the ones that take their name badges off and think they'll blend in with the NORMAL people! lol! heheee....
So...anybody wanna organize some apostate fun in front of the convention center w/me? heheheheee.....

i hate this time of year. at least i can be grateful that it's only on Fridays that they'll disrupt downtown. In the old days, it started on WEDNESDAYS.
i did take the opportunity to LOUDLY explain to my friends (making sure my most offensive words would coincide with another JW group walking by) that these were the herds on their lunch break from their all-day brainwashing sessions.
Hey. Noticed something different this year. Witnesses have set up an "information table" in the local hotel lobby....where you can walk up and get free literature (eeek....watchtowers!) and sign up for more information. Are others doing this too? They didn't do this while i was a witness. I almost walked up to the table thinking it was a good-ol' apostates table, till i saw the banner saying "Would you like to live in paradise?"
ugh. there goes my lunch.

as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.
barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.
home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.
HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH, BARBARA! and SIT ON THE FRONT ROW THE DAY THEY "ANNOUNCE" THIS DECISION! AND THEN TALK TO WHOMEVER YOU WANT ON THE WAY OUT!

thanks for all the advise and information on the mormons....I specifically asked if they disfellowshipped or ex-communicated people and was told they don't.
and that planet thing....damn...that's way out there.
Think I'll stay with my standard attendance to the non-denom church on Sundays.

PLEASE PLEASE....if anyone has any addt'l info on Mormon's ...i'd like to know. My sister-in-law has been "working" on me in a way to visit her LDS church. I've listened to a few programs on the BYU channel and am afraid to admit it sounds appealing.

i have devout jw siblings and my parents are jws but not active or unreasonably devout.
my father is 80 and my mother is 77. my mother has metastatic breast cancer and is currently receiving treatment.. .

Sorry to read about your dilemma. But you have no reason to feel like a shit....sounds like your sister's tears were just crocodile tears to lay on the guilt....something witnesses are really good at.
If she really cared, she would have been involved for longer than just 6 weeks and wouldn't rip a loved caretaker away your parents in such a manner.
She sounds like a greedy bitch to me. Sorry if that's blunt...but siblings like that piss me off. I too have family like that. Great with guilt trips and manipulation. ugh!

the past few weeks i have been comnunicating with jw's in my area who attend kh meetings physically but not mentally.
they are "closet apostates" or "double agents".
some are planning to leave the area altogether to avoid the hassles of being shunned.. according to one of these "closet apostates", he believes that 30% if not more of the members in his congregation would leave if it were not for the shunning.
