  no that is not a description of a piece of rear-anatomy (i don't want to get booted again <g>).

  the reason i bring this up is because 3 different people i know (not xjws) are all into this "stuff" now.

  I read the first two books in the series....out of curiosity. Was intreagued by the story since it was so different that what we were taught. Tried to look up stuff in the bible whenever a reference was made....to check it out for myself. First book ends in a climax, making you HAVE to pick up the second one.

  The writing style is very elementary.....so much so that by the time i finished the second book, found little desire to pick up the third. Too much redundancy....blah blah blah.......story started to get tired.

  In any case, I gave it a shot when they first came out because everyone at work was making such a big freakin' deal about them. But like I said, 1st and 2nd book were pretty good (extremely fast read...easy text, large print, short margins, etc.) .....then they get boring.

  the format for thursday night will rotate, and will include slides, videos, improv talks about subjects speakers choose.

  women will be elders and ms's......if they can be kings and priests with jesus, that's good enough for me; paul might not like it but he will get used to it.

  and Women would be able to give the #4 talk in the MInistry school, instead of playing the stupid role playing game of the #3 talk they have to give. Then, the men could give that talk, and instead of it being "a sister preaching to a householder" thing....it would be "two guys talking in a bar...."

  New rules from WTS to restrict use of internet?

  i know of a presiding overseer who has recently got rid of the modem and internet connections on his pc.

  the reason given was that he didnt use it enough to make the monthly expense worthwhile.. but i wonder?.

  have there been any local needs items or talks recently about whether it is wise to use the internet?.

  The WT's key is to keep their members IGNORANT. Internet's a mighty powerful information tool.

  So, in light of this....(haha, lol) I believe they will find PAGAN ORIGINS to the internet, or DEMONIC DOORWAYS eventually enabling them to proclaim the internet DANGEROUS to all .....and to avoid at all costs. Thus, they will proclaim NEW LIGHT in deciding usage for internet as not appropriate for JWs.

  You watch.....i'll laugh HARD if this actually comes to pass.

  Witnesses Not Budging on 1914

  just attended the sunday of the zealous kingdom proclaimers district convention in manchester, england and during the final talk we had an update on the world situation as it relates to jehovah's witnesses.

  the speaker was peter ellis, a member of the london bethel branch committee.. he stated that many had been waiting for armageddon for some years and some have become disappointed that it hasn't yet arrived, and that newer jw's did not seem to have the same degree of faith as some of the old-timers in the faith, hence this was of serious concern.

  then he said something along the lines of 1914 being set in stone and that the organization was not going to get any new light on this key doctrine, hence we can be sure that armageddon is very near.. interesting don't you think?

  ummm...not sure but, did he get Advance Notification that they would NOT be receiving new light on this issue? Seems to me the whole idea of "new light" is that it's NEW and unexpected. How the hell would HE know that they will not receive NEW light on this particular issue?
