Ouija Boards
by StinkyPantz inwell, i was talking on the phone to my best friend and we started talking about aliens, spirits, etc.
and eventually we got around to discussing the ouija board.
since i was raised a jw and have only been out a year, the ouija board was of course forbidden and even a little scary.

i am TOTALLY ouija curious!!! SP....if you do it...let me know. I haven't yet broken down and gotten myself one. i figure if you REALLY wanna dabble...get a USED ONE off ebay!!!! I figure i'll eventually try it. just haven't quite gotten the gumption to do it, ya know? Mentioned it once before on this board and got a few people to tell me OH NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT. DON'T DABBLE WITH OUIJA but they never really got down to telling me WHY! So i'll be keeping my eye on this thread!

I'm thankful to all of you. . . my new friends....that have gotten me thru some really tough times. I consider my new friends I have met thru this forum my new family...the one that replaces the family i lost because of the idiots who call themselves The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society.
I wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving, i wish you warmth, health, happiness, and serenity. Simon, thank you for providing this forum for us .... you've enriched my life more than I can tell you in a post.
May those of you experiencing the pain of familial allientation at this time draw strength from their new found family as I have, for I consider myself family to you all.

Discussion With My Dad...Ended Badly.
by Valis insome of you may know that my parents were expected for "dinner" on thanksgiving day.
well i really don't think its going to happen now.
i called my dad last night becuase my mother, now visiting my kids in south texas and bringing them here to see me, said they had "stuff to do on thursday".

(((((((((valis)))))))))) so sorry to hear about this. But it's pretty typical. I had several years of it, and when they figured out that they wouldn't get to see their grandkids if they allienated me....they finally came around [used the "she's not living in sin anymore" excuse so now we can talk to her again].... and "ignored" my blatant apostateness. We never discuss it...but it's there. in my pagan holiday decorations and in my thanksgiving turkey (that they are gonna come eat cuz Turkey's on "sale"). I know it's hypocritical, but we just avoid the topic now. life is too damn short. and it feels like a losing battle when the indoctrination runs so deep.
please have a happy turkey day w/your kids and with your new extended family because that's essentially what we all are for each other here on this board. I consider all my new found friends the family I lost and have now found that will stay by me no matter what my life choices are. UNCONDITIONALLY. Much love to you and your kids and have a warm holiday.
