i will most likely be looking in others but for 15 years the new world translation has been my base bible along with so-called bible-based literature.

I prefer the Jerusalem Bible myself. It is well written with great references in the NT to the OT where some of the stuff came from. It has a few extra books because of its Roman Catholic roots, but they don't detract. I believe it to be fairly accurate as those things go.

I get these quite often. It is all a hoax. Some must be falling for it for they keep sending them out.
dear everyone, my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly at the weekend.he did'nt turn up for a family dinner and my husband and i went to see if he was ok.he was dead.collapsed in his home.i can't stop shaking and i feel really sick.i've lost my mum and now my dad too.i wish i could sleep for months and wake when the pain has finished with me.
it hurts so much .sorry to bring everyone down-but i'm stressed at having to sort out his arrangements due to the autopsy and funeral etc and the house and my feelings.
; i just wanted to tell you all as my husband's gone for a walk and the children are asleep and i'm feeling scared about viewing his body, but i know i'll have to and i feel guilty for feeling like that.stupid thoughts racing through my mind at the moment-need to 'hear' a friendly voice .

I am so sorry about your loss. However, you can take solace in that he went quickly and did not suffer a long lingering terminal illness. I would like to go like that even though it is a bit hard on those left behind. You can be certain that he survived the experience and is now dealing with a new experience without the limiting human concepts of body. He may come to you in your dreams since you didn't get a chance to say goodbye.
forgive me just really venting here.
as some of you may know my mom suffered an accident about 1 month ago, she fell down a flight of stairs.
luckily she didnt break anything, she just had a minor concussion and some stitches on her head.
If your mother doesn't remember falling, it could be that she suffered a stroke. This should be reported to her Physician as soon as possible.
i'm 17. i was disfellowshipped almost two years ago.
i am the youngest of four kids and am the only left at home.
i live with my dad who has sort of faded from the jw scene.

i just saw the elder who made me try to kill myself.
he put me on prozac, and helped me leave the jws because of his evil nasty ways.. he was being carried from his house in an ambulence, and despite my best efforts, i felt bad for him!!!.

I like the idea of sending a get well card. It comes under the heading of what the bible calls "heaping coals upon their head".

You don't say which state you are in. The laws about moving graves vary from state to state. Kingspawn is right, publicity is necessary in order to keep the polititians in line. Contact a cemetary association in order to find out what the laws are in regard to moving graves. If no one cares or knows, the polititians will ignore the laws.

Most states have special laws regarding cemetaries that make it virtually impossible to disturb them if they are recorded as cemetaries. I have seen one or two very old unrecorded cemetaries decimated because no one knew they were there and the developer figured he could get away with it. I investigated the legal process for a project in Texas and determined that getting the proper clearance was a virtual impossibility. This is especially true in the case where some of the graves are quite old. The chances of contacting all the decendents to get their permission varies between slim and none. It sounds as if your developer is trying to get a private cemetary road reclassified as a public right of way.
