i doubt it would stop them, they could just add persecution to the brownie points.

i'll paste the news report in for you thomas, news links move and disapear and the info gets lost with time.
A schoolboy died after refusing a blood transfusion following a car crash because he was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Joshua McAuley, 15, suffered life-threatening injuries to his legs and abdomen after being pinned against a shop front by an out-of-control car as he went to buy sweets.
He survived the crash in Smethwick, West Midlands, and remained conscious, but lost a massive amount of blood and was airlifted to hospital for a transfusion.
But Joshua died six hours later, after he refused to consent to the operation because of his faith, church representatives said.
Under medical law, doctors are required to decide whether a child under 16 is
competent enough to consent to or refuse medical treatment without the need for parental permission or knowledge.Sources at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust suggested doctors followed this law, known as the Gillick competence test, before deciding Joshua was able to make his own decision.
It is unclear whether either of the boys’ parents were at the hospital at the time.
Last night members of his congregation described how he told doctors ‘no blood, no
blood, no blood’ after he was flown to Selly Oak Hospital, in Birmingham. As a Jehovah’s Witness from a devout family, Joshua followed the belief that blood is sacred and transfusions are prohibited by the Bible.
Hospital staff are thought to have begged the teenager to change his mind, but he
refused.Clive Parker, an elder at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses where Joshua and his family worshipped, said: ‘I believe he was conscious enough after the accident and he made a stand on the blood issue. He made the choice personally.’
Joshua, who was about to start his GCSEs at the local Shireland Academy, went to
buy sweets while out preaching to residents at 11.15am on Saturday, when the accident happened, friends said.Firemen battled to free Joshua, as others trapped inside the shop feared the building would collapse.
Paramedics gave him pain relief and emergency treatment at the roadside, before
flying him to hospital. Four other pedestrians were hurt in the crash – one seriously. The 28-year-old male driver, from Birmingham, has been bailed pending further
inquiries, West Midlands Police said. -

WT cautions against playing pac-man 1982 Awake
by EndofMysteries inwith bizarre names like pac-man, asteroids, space invaders, battlezone and donkey kong, video games have landed themselves not only in amusement arcades but also in corner drugstores, supermarkets, gas stations, fast-food parlors and nearly everywhere else that people congregate.
their beeps and booms and colorful lights have captured the fancy and imagination of a new generation of players to the point of obsession.. other than the obvious appeal to teenagers and its commercial success, the proliferation of arcade video games has triggered reactions ranging from strong parental protests to outright government bans.
in the philippines, president marcos officially banned the games and gave owners two weeks to destroy them.

they worried about pac man and yet the true evils were definately cluedo and monopoly cluedo sensationalising murders murderers and the busty pic of miss scarlet practically obscene,
and as for monopoly..... materialism that definately led to violence, and sometimes you didnt even get as far as playing cos the riot would start with the picking of who was going to be the damn car or dog.
i dont remember ever actually finishing a game of monopoly , the usual end of the game was when someone started chucking the board round the room and you'd spend the rest of the week finding little red houses in corners and crevices.coulda lost an eye or two playing that.or the game would last so long the players would start dozing off.
i can honestly say i never saw anyone throw a pacman or space invader table around, i think they weighed about 2 tonne and had 6 inch reinforced glass tops

Wasted life.
by Heartofaboy inmy parents are in their 80's.. they have been jw's since the late 1950's.. they both have serious misgivings about the way the organisation is going & they feel lost.. however it has been a damned hard struggle over all those years being jw's & raising a family in the 'truth' & they do not feel they can turn their back on it.. what can i say to help them?
.

they do not feel they can turn their back on it.
seriously i'm not sure theres anything you can say that can make them feel better about wasting 60ish years of their lives.

But again she spoke through my employer to say that she loved me and was concerned for me.
ooook, wierd and freaky.
i think you need to have a friendly word with your boss and ask her to resist the urge to be the middle person in this womans or anyone elses 'fixing' endeavours for future reference. its just wrong and innapropriate.

my dad loved chitlins and that was anything you'd normally throw away
i can manage liver as long as i get rid of any of the tubes, but i usually soak it in milk before i cook it. no idea why just copying my nans.i tend to go for lambs as its not as strong as cow and cheaper.
can't do kidney cos something about the smell when they cook puts me into puke mode
tripe.....wont eat that cos i remember having to suffer it as a kid and the texture was just wrong! (it felt like a rubber waffle flannel that sucks your tongue)
i did cook it for one of my dogs a few years back, took 3 days to get the stink out of the house and he gave me a wtf look. not had it in the house since.
hearts.....just dont fancy those.
oxtail....used to be a nice cheap meal but the bits that used to be cheap are now considered gastro nosh so not enough meat for the price anymore.
tongue....my grandad used to have one of those things for tea regularly, it kinda flopped across the plate.....skip those.
my nan used to dish up brains faggots, i thought they were....brains.
