Sounds like a little punk ass Elder in training. Those comments are supposed to be encouraging I guess... or condescending depending on what he had in mind. Just ignore it and go about your business as he is a little retard.

weird comment from a MS to me....
by ?me? ina few weeks ago we were cleaning the hall and one of the ministerial servants that is in my cbs made what i thought was a weird comment to me.......... what is your take?
" so he repeats "thanks for your help" ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he was not even in charge of the cleaning(we all know what needs to be done), actually no one was, but the bs overseer was there and helping also.
so i quip back "oh ok,yeah, and thanks for your help mr. young ms" maybe i am taking it the wrong way but it wasn't even his assignment to get done, it was the whole bookstudy's and then it was the elders job to make sure we did not screw it up.............................me ...................................................sorry , having trouble with the formatting... .

Is It Me Or Are There More Sex Crimes Against Kids Like Never Before?
by minimus ineither this has been going on for years and was never talked about or there is a rash of internet child porn, arrangements for sick underage sex, and family sex abuse.
i read 3 news events in the last couple of days with this constantly happening.

I think its gotten worse due to the mis use of the internet but these types of sicko's have been around forever. They used to be limited to preying on their families, acquaintances and neighbors but now they can use the net to prey on a variety of victims. I think these perverts should be locked in prison with "Bubba" as a cell mate and be treated to a lifetime of rape and abuse.

Rank and Baseless New Light speculation
by FreeWilly inwarning, conspiracy theory ahead!
in the past few years we've seen a few of the old-school anointed gb members pass away.
given the fact that major organizational issues are decided by a vote within the gb, i wonder if the balance of power is shifting.

While I dont think there will really be any major doctrinal shift persay I do think that the WTS will reevaluate some of their current policies and change them. I will give you an example: About 10 yrs ago regular pioneer ranks were down or at least not growing as quickly as it used to in the past. Their solution was to change the hour requirement from 90 to 70 (it was really a yearly requirement from 1000 to 840). Bam, more pioneers. The reason they gave was because its harder to make a living these days and people often have to work longer hours, blah, blah, blah.....always so positive and upbuilding. In other words they changed it for you not to pad their stupid statistics.
What I hope may go is the bookstudy.... I heard a rumor that after the "Bible Teach Book" starting in a few weeks we are going to study Isaiah's prophecy again.. come on! How long can they keep telling the R&F that its important to study that again?

Moving Congregations. Am I Allowed To Read The Letter The Elders Write?
by Diogenes ini've just moved congregations (it's the easiest way to keep people off your back!
) and the elders have received the letter written about me.. i've asked to read it to make sure there are no inaccuracies but the elders have refused point blank saying i'm not allowed.. i'm certain that under the data protection act i am allowed.. does anybody have any thoughts on this?
could you point me to anything the society have said?

I wonder how many of the elders actually read the letter besides the one who drafts it and mails it out
Most of the elders could care less unless the person is an MS or Elder and needs to be reccomended again. Unless you were a problem publisher all the letter says is "Bro So and So is a fine brother who is regular at meetings and in the ministry....he will be missed, please find enclosed his publisher record card...."
Thats all you're missing I am sure...

Hi
by UNCLEAR inthis obviously is my first post, i actually feel like i may be sick but i felt compelled to post.
only if to just say hello.. my life has been anything but boring, pioneered for years, brought several family members into "the truth", and find myself unable to have studies anylonger because i feel unsure about the stand i have taken all these years.. i was previously married, my husband left the organization for various reason, we divorced and i recently remarried another brother, he is a wonderful man and husband, i care for him deeply we and had been friends for 15 years.
i also have a son from my first marriage who is 4, he is the love of my life, recently my son had an opertion that could require a blook transfusion and to be honest i could never deny him that.

Welcome to the board. I hope you find the encouragement and support that so many, including myself, have received here. I read this on one of the exJW sites a long time ago and it has stuck in my memory:
"according to the JWs blood represents life, they actually place more value on this representaion then the actual life it stands for. To illustrate you have a picture of your child hanging on a wall in your home, this represents the child. A thief breaks in and you rush to make sure that the....picture is safe or your actual child? For a JW it would be the picture since it represents the child and is more precious than the child. Kind of like blood represents life, dont take the transfusion because it represents life so you must die to protect the representation of life."
After reading this I was shocked... JWs have it all wrong about blood. No way I'd let my child die for that fallacy of a doctrine. Why on earth would God value a representation over the real thing?!?!

February 15th Study Article on "New light"
by XBEHERE inwhen i read this for the first time yesterday, of course to quickly underline my wt for the meeting so the "personal study police" (po and another elder) couldnt say that they didnt see mine underlined, i noticed that the generation change was not spoken of in the article at all.
in fact they completeltely ignore it while mentioning other minor changes.
this was one of the most significant doctrinal changes in wts history and they never even alluded to it in the article.

Why do you think this is? Because they are afraid that newly associated ones who never heard of it before would ask questions?

JW's and sickness
by Honesty indid it seem to you that a lot of congregations had more than the usual sick people in them when compared with their worldly neighbors?.
could it be a common problem among jw's?.
do you think it may be mold?.

I can only speak for myself but lately even if I have a sniffle I stay home from the meeting. Its a result of the stress of knowing that the whole JW system is bullsh*t! Maybe there are many others in other congregations that suffer from this same problem of mine.

So what was your worst Watchtower Moment
by TresHappy inwe could all say every bit of our experience in the wt was the worst.
i hated field service - i used to call it the agony hour.
i'd like to know how many people hated field service as much as i did!

"If Jehovah, knows I'm sorry, how come you don't know I'm sorry?"
Cognizant I am sorry that this happened to you and I am glad you moved forward and past that petty, unchristian crap. Your above statement is one of things that really made me think about how unscriptural the whole "judicial" arrangement is. If Jehovah really was in control of the outcome of cases then why did I disagree so much with the other 2 often? In fact I was even told once that I was erring on the side of mercy when I should be erring on the side of justice. I was like WTF?!??!?!

a kingdom hall where several sisters were deliberately not talking to you; would not tell you how you offended them; and were telling other people not to associate with you.
These were the elders wives right blondie?

How Were You Affected By Elder/Ministerial Servants/Pioneer Appointments?
by minimus inwere you ever affected by seeing a man or even a teenager being made a ministerial servant or a young man being appointed an elder-----knowing that the person is not really qualified?
you could be thinking, "i can't believe he gets to be an elder when my husband (or brother or father or friend) is doing everything but headstands for the elders!
" when such appointments were made did you see to it that you would not go to that person for direction or counsel?

I dont know if this is really answering your question or not but it actually bothered and still bothers me to see especially elders still serving when they clearly dont do a damn thing. I sat on one body where this one dude insisted that we put him on the "elderly elder" list so he didnt have to do squat.... I mean no disrespect but he was only in his freakin 60's. What made it worse is that there was another elder on this body who was in his 70's )wonderful man died recently unfortunately) who conducted a bookstudy and did service meeting and TMS parts. It used to burn me up to sit in the elders meetings and listen to this "elderly elder" give his opinions when quite frankly because he didnt do shit had no right to give. He wasnt even that sickly.
