Normally we dont... unless its for a visit to see relatives and they expect us to go. I agree with Stilla, a vacation is a vacation from everything including stupid JW routines.

my family have been on my case about me hanging around with people (non-jw family) that like to drink alot.
they went as far as to call me "a drunk"...now i do admit that i have been gotten drunk before on occasion, but i am not a drunk or an alcoholic.. so, i told my mother (obese) that if i were "a drunk" for getting drunk from time to time (not every day), then can she be considered "a glutton", for eating to much, obese, having health problems, all because of the way she eats?

How Much $$$ Did You Contribute To The Organization?

I used to give a substatial amount... not hundreds of dollars a month but maybe $50-100.... I always reacted to the deficit announcements and then that month maybe give $200. Since 2002.... I havent put one penny in the box at the hall of Assembly Hall. Wife thinks I donate so she gives me the money to put in the box but i hide it in her wallet again or just keep it.

What Do You Think About The "Faithful&Discreet Slave Class"?

i believe the most ridiculous belief that witnesses have is a "slave class" made up of 144,000 give spiritual "food at the proper time".
why can't jws see thru this??

That Faithful and discreet slave thing was just one of Jesus parables... and as for cross linking it with the 144,000 number mentioned in Revelation, thats definitely a stretch. Besides the new testament in numerous verses state that all ...ALL christians must be in union with Jesus and that if you are not then they wont see the kingdom of god. Their reasoning is that the new testament was written exclusively for this annointed slave class.. how convenient and with no proof to justify that other than that they say its the truth... new testament was written only for annointed christians because there are only 144,000 of them that the words apply to.. circular reasoning at its best! As far as I am concerned the whole theology of a slave class made up of 144,000 individuals is false.

Scotsman welcome to the board. I suggest to you to go to the elders in your congregation and let them know that you come here and post and reply to people...essentially speaking to "apostates". I am curious to know how these spirit appointed men handle your situation with love and concern just as Jesus would have. Let us know.

If they are so concerned about "..abstaining from blood" then why are compoments derived from the so-called primary components are up to the individual's conscience if they want to use them or not? Is it really abstaining if you use a derivative of the product?

Special Assembly 2-Day 2,000 delegates and TWO baptisms!
by MinisterAmos injust got back from the special one day assembly and had to share this important info.
only two baptisms today; two girls about 15-16 out of 2,000 attendees.. i stumbled more than two with my anti-witnessing.
i posted un expose material in the bathrooms along with pre and post nov 1995 1914 generation belief.. incidentally, attendance was down almost 25% over last year as well.

I attended mine yesterday and we had just over 2000 attending with 17 baptized. It always fluctuates based on the age and amount of children of baptized JW's who take the plunge. I think its more accurate not to fixate on the "only 2 baptized" but the fact that very VERY few are coming in from the field anymore.
