I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it. (Fistful of Dollars 1964. IMBd Quotes)

What would be your favorite job if you could do anything.?
by new hope and happiness inon the basis that most of us realise the w.t wasnt really the best " job" or way to spend our days, it would be fun to find out what people would really have liked to have done with there lifes and if this is still possible.
or maybe its not even a very realistic ambition just a dream.
in my dreams i stay at home all day and make a living from being a professional artist.maybe i need a phycholgist?.

Your final WTF? Moment!
by restrangled init was a long time coming for me.....when i read about the extened generations, after being raised on1914 being the be all end all, and millions would never die....that was the end.
i was part of the 1975 fiasco, the 6 month only truth book studies, suffered through a disifellowshipping and their version of a rewind.
i finally am free and hope others can eventually look in instead of inside looking out!

I don't think there was a final WTF moment. I don't think I was ever really an organization sort of witness. It was more to do with God. I had no aspirations to do anything at the hall and generally disliked the meetings and field service although I pioneered.
When I was growing up there was always a lot of conversation in house regarding the truth and a couple of times I remember my father going on about things that had changed, one being the baptism.
I never intended to leave and thought that things would be explained in time. A Watchtower article had made me see things differently and I my autopilot adjusted my life for me meaning less meeting attendance and no field service and I had to discuss my feelings with my friends that brought the elders round.
Since I left I was totally surprised once talking to an elder about Christ and John 1. and more recently I was shocked when I spoke to an elder and we couldn't agree on basic things that I had understood as a witness. So maybe that was my final moment.
I kind of figured it out, the reasons how and why I left, since I've been posting here. Or at least made more sense of it.

Pointless Speculation
by konceptual99 ini've noted a few people aluding to a rumour that there will be a "big announcement"(tm) that will "shock some"(tm) later this year, probably around agm time.. in the interests of pointless speculation, what might this be?
i am sure we can all think of some outlandish possibilities but i am interested in what could have some possibility of actually happening.. for example,.
- sisters able to do some aspects of ms roles.. - regional conventions (nee.

How Did "Shepherding Calls" Go For You?
by minimus indid you loath them?
did you feel it was a "privilege" to have the elders care deeply about your spiritual well being?
if you were an elder or ministerial servant, did you enjoy going to the homes of the sheep?.

I felt that the elders made an arrangement between themselves to call on me. We have a phone and they had my number.
When they came they came in suits and tie with a bag. My friends don't come to visit like this. This is not a casual call. So why not arrange to come. I asked them to. They refused. I found that rude.
I think we had 5 visits in 13 years.

I wouldn't let them in without an appointment and they never made one.
