passes Englishman a tall glass of Newcastle in honor of the past history of cooperation between the US and the UK and for the British contribution to the exposition of the Watchtower's lies. Cheers!

Ok now ..what up with the English?
by hillbilly in.
you wont discuss your own politics with out a browbeating from old hill.... but eman starts a thread about the us second amendment to it's consitution and all sorts of brits chime in.. for the record... i really dont care about your big-eared prince and his "gnawer"* new bride.... why do ya'all care about my guns?.
*gnawer.. a woman so ugly that if one woke up in bed (after a drunken night) with her they would gnaw their arm off to escape...rather than chance waking her in the daylight.

Worldly People
by Undecided ini was sitting in my car in a parking lot and an old woman came out with a shopping cart with a few items in it.
she was putting them in the back of a pickup truck and it was a little high for her to lift things over the side.
she had a bag of dogfood or something like it and a young woman saw that it would be hard for her to lift it and she ran over and lifted it over for her and pattied her on the back and walked over to her car and left.

I'll take it a step further. My experience is that the Witnesses have a higher proportion than the general public of the following: [1] criminal convictions; [2] dishonesty; and [3] lack of empathy for others.

Doubtfully,
"She made him fornicate with her?"
Pull your head out of your ass. Women don't force men to "fornicate" with them. Unless it's forcible rape, it's the result of mutual assent.

Fight over finger found in custard
by William Penwell inanother cnn news item.
i originally felt sorry for the fellow that bought the custard, only to find the remnants of a finger tip in it.
i think any sympathy he had at first, he lost it by not giving the finger tip back to the poor worker that lost it so he could get it reattached.

Someone ought to amputate the finder's finger and give it to the poor employee who could not get it back from the litigious creep who found it. If it was my finger, I'd amputate this jerk's head.

He might've been a JW in name, but by the sounds of it he sure didn't put into practice the fruits of God's spirit.
This person sounds like one of the many JWs that are inside the WBTS just to give the religion the worst name possible. -- Doubtfully Yours
Doubtfully,
Your comments that I've read today have been uncharacteristically JW-apologist. Has someone hacked your account?
Really, who would endure the misery of meetings and association with the great crowd of pigeons just to "give the religion the worst name possible?" The Watchtower does a fine job all on its own of giving this cult an unsavory reputation. They are not in need of assistance in this regard, but they do need apologists to try to improve their scandal-plagued reputation.

Do J.W.'s still spank their kids in Kingdom Hall libraries to punish them?
by hubert ini've heard a lot on this subject, and was wondering if it's a common practice?.
can you go to a meeting and almost always see some poor kid getting a walloping in the back room for talking or misbehaving at the meeting?
or is this a thing of the past?.

Doubtfully Yours,
Our congregation did not make the statements you wrote of in your post regarding the kingdumb hall not being the place to discipline kids. Rather, they encouraged and facililitated the abuse of children by allowing parents to use the library to savagely beat their children. In fact, use of the library for this purpose was even suggested during some of our meetings. I als observed elders beating their kids in the hall as well. Your statement that the Watchtower does not encourage this sort of activity is absolutely false. I can remember the numerous talks on "spare the rod, spoil the child." While these talks did not specifically advise the great crowd of pigeons to beat their kids at the hall, they certainly did encourage and in fact advocate the physical abuse of children. I'm sure nobody in Watchtower corporate management was surprised that such beatings were and still continue to occur in kingdumb halls. -

Theological question: When did God create the Devil if...
by logansrun inst. augustine speculated that god exists outside of time.
this viewpoint would seem to make sense in our modern understanding of physics since time is dependent upon space; time is not an absolute, and it is not linear.
god, according to augustine and other theologians, sees all of history as one eternal present moment.

A Dangerous Legal Precedent
by metatron ina jury in milwaukee awarded 17 million bucks to an 82 year old barber who got hit by a car.
driven by a church volunteer.
the archdiocese was held liable for the volunteers' actions.. (see wall street journal editorial page, march 17, 2005).. now, i'd like to see the watchtower crash and burn as much as anyone .... but i sincerely.

Those who second-guess the jury verdict in the case that was referenced in the first post of this thread weren't in court to hear all the facts. Criticizing that verdict without knowing all of the underlying facts is similar to the actions of JWs who criticize other religions and philosophies which they know nothing about (e.g., buddhism). It's just plain stupid.

Al Capone vs. Judge Rutherford
by Farkel inye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith alone...for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" - james 2: 24, 26
al capone vs. judge rutherford
al capone gained his power by exploiting the weaknesses of people.. judge rutherford gained his power by exploiting the weaknesses of people.

You forgot to mention that Al Capone did not exploit hundreds of thousands of children as uncompensated marketing slaves and kingdom hall cleaners, as Judge Rutherford's cult has done. Also, Al Capone did not ban those in his criminal organization from celebrating holidays or otherwise enjoying life, as Judge Rutherford did.

What religion have you changed to now that no longer a witness?

i teeter on that myself.
but i have toyed with hooking to a little country church with some friendly people to associate with.

My experience as a kid raised in the JW cult taught me that I don't need organized religion. I subscribe to Thoreau's view, "deity comes from within."
