  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  These are the current positions of those named in this thread whom I remember...

  Gilber Nazaroff - Currently an overserr Purchasing in WTF. Does WT study at times. Can be compared to James Bond.

  Gary Davis - Works in scheduling in the printery at WTF. One of the Larson's right hand men.

  Ralph Walls - US Branch Committee, Bethel Office Overseer, helper to the GB

  John Ekrann - US Branch Committee, oversee of IT Department

  Roberta Little - Grounds maintainence at WTF. Widow

  Richard Devine - Harold Corkerns'(US Branch Committee) right hand man. A Maintainance/Const. Overseer

  Tom and Sunny Cheiky - Both at WTF. He's Assistant Overseer of Printery, conducts morning worship & WT. A Wallkill heavy soon to be Bethel heavy. She works in laundry.

  Joe Neiderhieser - Art Department in Patterson

  Matt Oleman - Shipping Office overseer @ WTF

  Corey Petersen - Treasurer Department in BK

  Ryan Carlsen - Commuter Bethelite at WTF. Lives close by. An elder/pioneer. In photography business.

  Tommy Hegge - In construction department. Not sure which one. Married. His mother recently died of cancer. Father remarried.

  Dan Molchan - Helper to GB in one of those 6 committees

  Rayfords - He's a heavy at WTF. Bethel Office. He does Morning Worship and WT Study. He was the one on the sound bit circulating at an assembly in Texas telling GB secrets or something. A few years back. She's a WTF too.

  Ralph Jackson - WTF in Purchasing Dept.

  Tartaglia's (husb and wife) - Both still at WTF

  Randy Babbitt - Was reassigned out of Bethel. Went to MTS, then got sent to UTAH. Then he and two other bethel-reassigned MTS grads all got sent to a congregation in Mississippi, in which they deleted the entire body of elders and took over.

  Others mentioned I haven't heard of, but I must mention all people listed here I like. They are cool. Some more company than others, but I had no bad run-ins with any of them. (until they find out im an 'postate according to their terms).

  and things are within a week or two of being d.a.ed/d.f.ed, and my jw best friend sent me an email to check how i was doing.

  i was fairly sure that he was very much on the edge of leaving to, or at least that he didn't believe it for a long time.

  so i sent him an email in reply and told him basically everything i believed and the reasons i knew jws are not the true religion, and i also told him i was leaving.

  i have a friend, she has been my friend for over 20 years...in that 20 years i have seen her reasonably regularly.

  i visit her, she visits me.. the thing that has started bugging me is this...... when i visit her it is normally in the daytime.

  i stop in for a cuppa and a chat.

  still thinking: I wasn't implying your stingy BY ANY MEANS. I apologize if that's how it came across.

  I was just saying hearing her side may make a difference because she may view it all differently. She must be appreciative for all you have done, just knowing your side of the story, emotions and all, you are indeed generous!

  Is it just me or is the GB asking for money more directly.

  ok soi grew up in the religion and i remember so often the churches being slammed at the meetings for passing the plate and how they shamelessly begged for money.

  how we as jehovah's witnesses are so much better because we never ask for money and the contribution box is sort of hidden in the back of the hall like we were even embarrassed to have to have that.

  just the word contribution was so much better than the words the worldly churches used.

  mP: I can refute all your reasonings(and can any whom served here) and tell you the life of a GB member is GRAND. They would like you to think it's hard to come up with decisions that affect the WW work and such, but like other threads have noticed, they stress more over how to preserve a fast sinking religion. But to be in a spot where many look to you as that Golden Calf, until the day you die.... That's what it is. Like Zid said

  I know you would feel bad asking them to pitch in, but that's how they will realize and appreciate it shouldn't be all on one person.

  There's two sides to every story. Maybe if you were tactful, yet frank, you could see what her side is. If the tables were turned and she was posting on this site, we would all think you were stingy. Lol. Not saying that your exxagerating by any means, just how does she view the whole thing? That could give insight.

  I understand your quandary. I'd rather put up with others' thoughlessness than make waves. I'm learning too. Speaking up makes a world of difference.

  I dont get the GB, they grab money for the shareholders and get almost nothing themselves. They work until they die and from what i can tell have above average but not extravagent rooms. No private jets, no dancing girls nothing. Those fools work until they drop, all for nothing.

  The constant free vacations (branch reports they called them) to places we couldn't even dream of, free delicious 3 square meals daily, green handshakes, power, authority, respect/fear/worship of millions worldwide, and they have the BEST rooms at bethel. Rooms similar to luxury condos that would cost $3000 a month (or even more in NYC), they have, with beautiful views, but pretty soon in an isloated prettier area. The thrill of not being questioned, and if so, YOU are the problem, never them, billions of dollars at their control, yes BILLIONS (I rememeber being at bethel 2 years ago and a GB member making a comment at morning worship about how much the friends love Jehovah that they give a mulit-billion dollar corp their money to work for them. Was suppsoed to be a joke). Their work and home have security and people willing to give their lives for them, free healthcare, NEVER have to worry about their financial situation, which is huge source of stress to many, free of liabilty because many would take the legal bullets for those men, the list goes on.... Work for nothing? I think NOT! They know what's at stake. Thats why Ray's course was so admirable....

  what are the unwritten rules and standards that make some people here cool, others not.. saying "just be yourself" is a lie!

  i see many people being themselves who start an interesting thread and have 6 comments (5 being their own), while others post "cheeseburgers" and the thread last for days.
