  I know this is a WT article but the priciple applies to their other publications.

  To be honest, the whole of the NWT is a really bad lesson in the use of the English language.

  A lot of it used to really throw me. I think that because they have 'fudged' such a lot of it and altered it so much, when you put it all together it just doesn't read very well. In fact it reads very badly and if that is so how can you learn from it?

  Their criticism of the NIV and the NEV is well known but at least these bibles actually read coherently.

  as i've understood it the gb has taken a vow of poverty.

  on jwn they are constantly accused of guilt tripping their subjects to keep distributing there literature to make converts in order to keep growing the number of donations which is a valid point.

  i ask this question in all honesty and naivety to see where the truth of the matter lies.

  jesus said in the gospels: when you see jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies then the appointed time of the gentiles has arrived,so it wasn't the first attack in 587 bce.

  but jesus said the words,,,,"will be,points to the 2nd attack in about the year 70 ad.

  ,yes into the future people"!so the idiots that dreamt up 607 bce.

  Wow, I just watched the video. I had to listen with headphones on as I would never let my kids even overhear that kind of silly nonsense.

  Wow!!! He's full of it. I've never met any of these guys but I have met members of the UK bethel at funerals and so on and they all seem so detatched and vacant.

  I'd probably interpret most of his 'oddness' as insincerity. They know they are bullshiting everyone and it makes them uncomfortable even if they are very accomplished at hiding it.

  Simply put, They can't believe people still believe it after all this time and all those failed prophesies.

  Also, don't they (GB) appear to be getting younger?

  yes, I've been looking forward to the year 2014 for about 20 years as I have always believed it would prove them to be the liars that they are (not that we need proof, common sense will do nicely).

  However, as mentioned earlier, I do not now think it will make any difference to them. They are brainwashed and the only hope they have will come from within their own selves. Nothing else will make a difference but we all live in hope.

  I do indeed hope to see the WT$ 'melt down' in my lifetime and maybe 2014 will have a share in this.

  i had tears in my eyes at work today.

  there was an arbor day celebration and some teenagers had some speeches and they planted a tree...most people would not be as touched by the events today as i was but one of the women recieving an award said that she was proud of these children because they were doingsomething good for the communtiy...and i was proud of them too, but i was sad for jw's who would think these children are "bad" just because they are not witnesses...or the jw who would not let their children associate with these teenagers or even be part of a "wordly" club..that's what made me sad, all those years i missed looking at the little beautiful things in life in a positive light and not the negative debbie downer way jw's look at things..
