A small observation from the AGM...
by sir82 in...but it struck me as significant anyway.. i attended at a jw assembly hall, and was sitting behind a pretty typical jw family.
2 kids about ages 8 & 5, frazzled hen-pecked husband, and....the mom.
the lady of the house.

Quite so, this is the crux of the issue. The GB do not need money, neither does it interest them beyond the purpose of serving 'their' organization. They have the ultimate power over human souls which is something that no money can buy.
People who say that the religion is sincere because the people at the top do not take money out for themselves need to 'WAKE UP' and stop being so silly. The times I have tried to get this point accross, well, it makes me weary just to think about it.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
There is a very important reason why so many sisters idolize the GB, elders, CO's etc. It is because they are yearning for a 'perfect' male figure that they can respect and follow. They are close enough to their husbands to know their imperfections and flaws. The GB on the other hand are quite distant and removed and therefore much easier to idealize and worship.
I have seen it first hand on CO visits. I seriously think that if he had asked the sisters to have sex with him they would have, and the husbands would probably have felt honoured to let him inseminate their wives.
The sister you mention, I bet she doesn't even laugh at her husband's jokes!

All this 'new light' is, perhaps, shedding light on the WT darkness and allowing more people to see the truth?
That can only be a good thing

To be honest guys, this is the way I've always understood it (rightly or wrongly) regardless of what everyone else believes.
After all, how can some little old widow lady in the back row at the Kingdom Hall, who nobody gives more than a passing thought to but for the fact that once a year they 'observe' her nibbling on a piece of dried up cracker, possibly be dispensing spiritual food as part of the 'FDS'?
This isn't really 'new light' to me...
Rather, someone changing the light bulb, and MAN is it getting bright!!!

Literature carts are the cruisiest way to preach ever - photo attached
by jwfacts init was a perfect spring day, and a jazz band were playing in the mall near my work.
in front of the band, two watchtower literature carts stood in solidarity.
i could not work out who were the jws attending them.

I forgot to add, these sisters did not have 'literature carts' but had improvised with an old warehouse sack-truck...

Yes, I saw some sisters wheeling these things around while I was on holiday and couldn't believe it!
Do they realise how scrappy it looks?
It looks so unprofessional in my opinion.
