Nice one!

i am adrift, without rudder, .

Many thanks.
hey y'all i think i've found one watchtower prophesy that is coming true:.
"bid ignorance and error fly.
" (song 168, recognizing earths new king, psalm 2:12).
Hi.
Well, I've started a new topic on this subject so hope to learn something.
I'm sure somebody out there knows.
I was told years ago that about 40,000 a year leave.
growing up and jw and being around them all my life i constantly heard the expression "a relasionship with god".
this always confused me, because how do you have a relasionship with someone that doesn't talk back to you after praying?
this was always rationalized as god talks back to you when you read the bible.
Just do as you are told or get annihilated.
The most simple and unambiguous relationship one could pray for.

Hi Fernando. Great topic.
I was just contemplating starting a thread as I was wondering if there are perhaps more ex JWs than practicing JW$.
Forgive me if this sounds naive but my wife and I were discussing it last night (no spooning for me!)
I didn't know what spooning was last night anyway...............but I do now
if you were a jehovah's witness have you "reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom"?.
"from time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of jehovah's people those who, like the original satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...they say that it is sufficient to read the bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.
but, strangely, through such 'bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago...".
Well, I certainly hope so.
I don't wanna work for him down there.
No way!
Have you ever had prickly heat?
if witnesses could only feel the freedom to speak their minds, what would they say?.
well, being fully free from the org via my ex-communication really allows me to engage in conversations with members who allow me to do so.. what i have found interesting in every conversation is this common phrase, "you know (looking down their nose at me) the truth.
you know that the information is correct so imperfect organization or not this is jehovah's chosen organization.
Yes, quite so. Discussing doctrine will always make them dig their heels in.
Lead by example and let them see the benefits you enjoy in having the freedom of choice.

I think that at the end of days I will declare myself a believer in the fundamentals of the Christian faith.
I do find Catholicism very interesting but it's also quite dark so I'm not sure about that.
The Baptist Church always appealed to me even in my ministry days so we'll have to see.
I do have some friends who are Baptists.
I'm in no hurry though!

the service meeting for this week was almost entirely made up of questions based on the dvd faith in action pt1.
Great links Cedars. Thanks!
Firstly, it's truly amazing what you can do with Photoshop. All these worldly tools they have at their disposal! Where would they be without them?
As for the second link, well, a very good example of how we can be picked up by the JW$ and carried along as if in a strong wind, only to be left stranded. Run aground. Yes, I've been there too.
I found it to be a very genuine and enlightening account.
How encouraging to see that people at Bethel are, even now, seeing through it all.
Great stuff!!!
the other thread got me to wondering if people who are studies ever even learn about the current generation teaching.. is the current generation teaching part of the book that is used with studies now?
.
I do wonder if even the person who wrote that muck believes it.
And however they dress it up, a generation does not last 100 years.
Not even in Watchtower land.
Overlapping indeed!!!
Who the hell do they think we are?
