  What happens to marriages upon the arrival of Armageddon?

  a couple of paradise earth questions: .

  1) if you are a married, baptized witness couple (both people being baptized) and armageddon arrives, will the couple still be married on paradise earthtm?

  2) if you are married to an unbelieving mate (ubm) and armageddon arrives, will the witness be free to remarry on paradise earth?.

  Yes to both questions. As long as you don't die. Because as we all know those that are resurrected will be like angels, without sexual organs; thus, the third sex.

  Just be careful who you marry, you will be stuck with this person to all eternity.

  When you think about this, it is just one more reason to say the whole idea makes absolutely no sense.

  I was told that in the new order we will maintain the countenance of a 30 year old. So if we have sex for eternity, we will be having children for eternity? And our children will have children and their kids and so on. I think we will all find a limit to this concept of infinity very quickly. I also think those resurrected without sexual organs will be highly pissed off.

  But let's see. We need to get past Armageddon to figure out the rest. So, when is that happening?

  even so, i have never had one prayer answered my entire life.

  the only thing that would even come close was learning ttatt.

  One of the oddest things that happened to me was one day a woman told me to say something nice about her. I made a nice but semi wisecrack comment. She said hmm well thats a little nice so I wish you a little good luck. Over the next 2 days I found $100 and got half price on an expensive cab ride. ( I really wish I had said something really nice)

  I really wish people or god could fulfill wishes. Even little ones. I would be standing in line and buying tickets to that ride.

  i just caught this in an upcoming study article which will be "studied" in the congregations the week of 11/18-24/13:.

  he and his wife were elated when their eldest daughter, age ten, told them that she loved her parents, loved the brothers and sisters, and loved jehovah very much.

  she said that she wanted to dedicate her life to jehovah and get baptized.

  I recall some situations where very young teenagers get disfellowshipped. I cannot imagine anything worse.

  I really wish there was a god that answered prayers. I think that would be the coolest thing ever. I sometimes envy those with absolute faith.

  But, no, I have not prayed in a long time. And when I did I don't think I ever got any answers. However, even as a witness I never quite got the who thing about prayer and pouring your heart out. I have basically decided that I am not the spiritual type. I would much rather look at an Excel spread sheet than a bible.

  However, if you pray and talk to god, let him know that I am doing just fine. I hope he is interested.

  Hmm. I never thought of that. Thanks.

  The fact that you and I (both two grumpy old men) still post on this board suggests that forgetting the past is harder that most people think.

  But in any event we have moved on and lead successful lives, but there is that little thing that still draws us back to our past. I have made peace with that little thing - how about you?

  Who wrote: "Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat"? May be that applies here.

  the prophet from the stars, mr isaac asimov made some predictions for 2014, (please note the lack of ambigous monsters of several heads and horns)....he was very, very specific all the way back in 1964..... communications will become sight-sound and you will see as well as hear the person you telephone.

  the screen can be used not only to see the people you call but also for studying documents and photographs and reading passages from books.

  synchronous satellites hovering in space will make it possible for you to direct-dial any spot on earth.. by 2014, only unmanned ships will have landed on mars, though a manned expedition will be in the work.. gadgetry will continue to relieve mankind of tedious jobs.

  Nice summary of the important items. I guess you highlighted those items because these are the things the Watchtower says you should NOT do.

  Which may explain why unhappiness and depression is pandemic in the kingdom halls around the globe.
