Teary, thank you for that information. I have some very strong opinions about education and while I understand that not all degrees are created equal, an education has the potential of transforming lives.
Even though I grew up a witness and remained one for much of my adult life I never bought into the no-education stance. I continued my education even as an elder.
My financial wellbeing is directly attributed to my education. No question.
An education is just like any other investment. If you invest wisely, you will end up ahead.

The Searcher, if you have ever heard the phrase "getting blood from a turnip," that phrase applies here. While there are a few rich congregations, most are pretty poor.
It would be interesting to find out how the results align with what was expected by HQ. I am sure getting that last rusty nickel will be the focus of the CO visits. Is all I can say is: good luck with that. You couldn't pay me enough to take that job.

This is new information to me. Thanks for posting. In essence, this negates the whole purpose of having an assembly. I have participated in numerous web-based seminars and sessions. THey are wonderful and so efficient.
So, why would a witness travel to a faraway location, take vacation time, spend money on hotels, food and travel when the same event can be viewed on-line?
I only ask this rhetorically. If I was part of the gb, I think I could come up with a few reasons to inflict additional pain on the r&f. One of the reasons would be “just for the fun of it” or to state it differently “because I can.”
